Publisher's summary

When Lyleia Naiad was head-hunted by Brimstone, Inc., for her job as Executive Assistant to a high-powered billionaire demigod, she was given one directive—do not fall in love with Castor Dioskouri. Doesn't matter if he's the son of Zeus and can electrify a room with a single glance. As an ex-nymph, she possesses a unique ability—a gift from the goddesses to protect nymphs from the randy gods—to resist her boss's charms.

Or so she thought.

He insists she accompany him to an alpha wolf shifter mating ceremony, an event where the pheromones fly, and so do clothes . . . and inhibitions.

Goddesses save her, because Castor has stolen into Lyleia's heart, and she's not so sure she can hold out much longer . . .

Contains mature themes.

Love, danger and power

I loved Castor and Lyleia’s boss-employee, secret crush romance with a side of intrigue and danger. The story was easy to fall into and had a good balance of humor, swoony love, real life issues, danger, and spice. Castor is a demigod and the son of Zeus. Lyleia is a water nymph who lost her spring and is in hiding. She was hired as Castor’s executive assistant a few years ago specifically because she would not fall in love with him. Unfortunately, they are in fact secretly in love with each other. Just when Lyleia decides she needs to run again, Castor asks her to accompany him to a wolf shifter mating. That’s where they no longer can ignore their feelings, their painful pasts, and the danger swirling around her. Despite being short, the story was well written and included witty dialogue, good world building, characters with dimension and an engaging storyline. I will be reading more in this series.

Marnye Young did a good job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters convincingly.
