Publisher's summary

The Summer of Chaos has ended. Ansalon's nightmare has only just begun.

The gods have departed the world, heralding a new Age of Mortals. But before the dust of war can settle, vast shadows cover the land. Dragons have come to Ansalon, larger and more powerful than any ever seen, and they will wreak havoc on nations still trembling from war. As the lands themselves begin to change under the dire magic of the new dragon overlords, new heroes arise to lead the fight for freedom.

The first book in a rerelease of a key trilogy in the Dragonlance saga, this trilogy covers key events that take place between Dragons of Summer Flame and the bestselling War of Souls trilogy.

Not the best of what Dragonlance has to offer

Hard to finish this one... the narrator did a great job with what he had to work with.

exceptional narration

narration was great. he made different voices for characters and kept them up flawlessly. awesome job. the story itself was good as well. maybe not as great as the traditional writing from Weis and Hickman but still good. a lot of people say to skip this series because it's not Weis or Hickman and the story isn't good and isn't needed to continue on. i disagree. I read the first book of the next trilogy and felt I had missed too much so I came back to do this trilogy. I'm glad I did. dont take the debby downers opinion. read it and enjoy. I will keep this spoiler free but I just want to say there are alot of shocking things that mess with your emotions in this book. almost too much. let's just say this writer keeps it real.

Narration in terrible

I hope this guy doesn't have kids he reads to. And I wish these narrators would at least learn some background on what they are reading.. Almost all the names are pronounced wrong. And whoever let him chew gum while recording should be fired...

Love it

All in all, I enjoyed this book a lot more the second time around.

Yes, there are about four incorrect facts in the book, but I see this as an editing failure rather than a writing one. Yes, some of the dialogue is a bit on the ridiculous side. But it's still a wonderful story with great characters. The new ones are well developed and the existing ones are true to their sources.

Highly recommend to any Dragonlance fan, especially those who have thus far dodged the Fifth Age.

not very exciting.

if you've already listened to the story where these dragons are defeated, don't listen to this one. very pointless story lines and abruptly ends.
