When I read a novel, I want...

When I read a novel, I want it to tell me a story. Whether it’s happy or sad, whether it plods along or it twists and writhes, a story is setup in the beginnings and it is resolved at its end. The story doesn’t have to be a particularly satisfying one, but resolve it must. It it understood that a story may It may elude to a past history and tease of more to come, but ending in a complete gap of suspense as does The Crooked

Riveting!

With each sequel to the Jane Hawke series, I am in a state of suspense, nervous for the next turn of events and full of dread as each character is put into danger’s path then devastated when that path leads to their destruction. It’s an incredible theory and I have enjoyed every word. But, cliff hangers are not my favorite endings. Waiting for the sequel is torture!
Thank you, Mr. Koontz, for yet another fascinating tale. :)

Amazing

Found myself closing my eyes and literally desiring the need for more chapters. The suspense and narrator grabs you and doesn't let go. I'm ready to start the next one asap!

Great book in the series.

I thought it was wonderful and I'm still hooked but a couple characters got killed off and I've been angry with the author for two days about it.

My favorite book in the series so far

This was action packed and kept me on my seat right from the get go in good ol fashion Koontz style. The first book was a slow starter for me and I was waiting cautiously to see where this was going but this 3rd installment did NOT disappoint.

There's 3 paralleling stories. While 2 are transparently part of the larger story the 3rd we'll just have to see how it fits in.

Jane is getting badder ass by the day and her ruthlessness more apparent as well. You just wish she'd get to the end of this already so you're not griping your seat for her anymore but I'm glad Koontz left this open ended so its obvious there'll be a 4th book. Can't wait to see where he takes us.

Good book. Just hate to be continued books. Now on to the next.

Dean has done it again!

I have always loved Dean’s books! I live in Orange County, Ca, so I enjoy them all the more hearing the cities I’ve lived and worked in being mentioned. The Jane Hawk series is seriously good! I didn’t think I’d like another character as much as Odd Thomas, but I do. Suspenseful, masterful story telling without “a ton” of profanity! When is the next one???!!!
