"Fans of John Grisham will find much to like here." —Library Journal

Confession is good for the soul, but it could mean death to an ambitious young lawyer.

Assistant DA Holt Douglas has made a career of getting confessions from criminals. With a confession in hand, he knows a guilty plea is soon to follow.

In the midst of professional success, Holt is haunted by a secret—a lie he buried in the grave of his best friend. Holt’s crime is hidden from all eyes—family, friends, police, and his soon-to-be fiancé.

But the truth has a way of coming back to life.

With obsessive prosecutorial zeal, Holt reopens a cold case involving the death of the town’s wealthiest citizen. The man’s death was ruled a suicide, but Holt suspects murder. Facing fierce opposition, he is determined to expose the killer. Holt slowly begins to unravel the facts.

And comes face-to-face with his own guilty conscience.

With his job, his relationship with the woman he loves, and his future at risk, Holt skirts the boundary between truth and lies, confession

and hypocrisy, redemption and ruin. Can he survive long enough to finally make the right choice?

“Readers will find plenty to love about this suspenseful novel as they watch its appealing main character juggle personal, professional, and spiritual crisis with a combination of vulnerability and strength.” —CBA Retailers and Resources, regarding The Living Room

Would you try another book from Robert Whitlow and/or Heath McClure?

Robert Witlow - of course! Love him!
Heath McClure - not unless he learns how to read!

Would you recommend The Confession to your friends? Why or why not?

Would you be willing to try another one of Heath McClure’s performances?

no.

Do you think The Confession needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Any additional comments?

Have to return the book even tho we have always enjoyed Robert Whitlow's writing. McClure made it impossible to even know if the book was any good as we couldn't get past his reading quirks and overall performance.

Could not continue with this narrator.

Robert Whitlow remained true to his previous books that I've read. Being a fellow believer, I love how he freely brings the Bible and his Christian beliefs into his stories. I enjoy clean books that leave out the XXX rated scenes and offensive language. The story was a good one and I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a PG rated book.

Truth Prevails

The story was good. The narrator was probably the worst I’ve ever heard. He had a nice voice, but his inflections were non-existent or often backwards. I’ve heard better narration from junior high readers. His reading made the experience an ordeal. What on earth was Thomas Nelson thinking when they released such amateur narration?! Was he somebody’s nephew who needed a break?

Good Story, POOR NARRATOR

This story is well worth the time needed to listen and enjoy. The characters are very believable.

This is an excellent read. There are more twists and turns than an old mountain road.

The storyline was good. I love the Christian background. However, the narrator was not good at all! The was no life in his words, every voice was the same, the was no variation.

Good story, but the narration was awful....

The narrator was absolutely awful, and ruined the story for me. I had to stop reading after about an hour.
