Publisher's Summary
2015. Dr. Quinn Allenby thinks she’s seen it all, but when the remains of a young woman and her newborn are discovered in a cave in Cornwall, the only clue to her death is a smooth-edged hole in the top of the skull and the indisputable evidence that the victim was still alive, and possibly in labor, when the coffin was sealed. Torn between her professional commitments and her desperate need to find her missing twin, Quinn agrees to a daring plan, one that will lead to the Taliban-occupied mountains of Afghanistan and the snow-covered alps of Germany.
1620. After suffering years of abuse at the hands of her uncle, Mary takes the ultimate risk and sails for the New World, where the promise of a new life and an arranged marriage to a colonist await. Mary is determined to make her marriage a success, but her husband’s indifference drives her straight into the arms of the one man she thought she could never love.

Suspenseful!
This sixth book in the series is full of suspense as Quinn continues the search for her twin sister. Her boss and friend Rhys Morgan certainly shows his true colours in this book and my respect for him improves tenfold! Plus every woman should have a husband as patient and devoted as Gabe. Mary’s story is terribly tragic to say the least. As usual the book left me anxious to learn more about what happens in the next instalment. Of course Wendy Wolfson does a superb job with the narration. I received a free copy of this audiobook and have voluntarily provided an unbiased review.

The series, Echoes from the Past is aptly named. Quinn is ready to solve another mystery with her supernatural gift. I love this series, it's beautifully-written, intense with dark elements. Beautiful Tragedy
As with all of Ms. Shapiro's books in this series, readers know that Quinn is investigating death for the Echoes series. It's still always shocking to learn the details of the person's life whose remains are discovered. I'm glad that I'm not endowed with the gift of sight. I'd become too emotionally involved in the victim's story. I can't wait to see what's in store for Quinn's newly discovered family members.

The Condemned
This is a fantastic series. Quinn an archeologist works with dicovering what happened to people in the past. In this read she goes looking for twin sister that she was seperated from after birth. This is a very riveting story with twists and turns. That captivated me from start to finish. The Narrator does a Fantastic at bringing the characters out. The Author does a fantastic job at bringing the read to fruition. I definitely recommend this listen. And the series.

another great book
I love learning some history while enjoying these books. They are all sad unfortunately and the poor girl in this story is just another tragedy of science and medicine being very misinformed. But it is the way it was hundreds of years ago. I can't get enough of Irina Shapiros books. Atleast we get happy moments in the here and now. Now on to the next one.

Annoying
The characters are irritating and bland. The main character is so wet it’s infuriating.
No one takes their coat off, they “divest”. Come on!
And the narrator needs to stop talking about “kebobs “ and learn the word kebab.
I’m giving up on this, it’s too stupid.

Another Echo from the past
Book 6 in this series about Dr Quinn Allenby and her amazing gift to see into the past. Quinn has just given birth to her son Alex when she is called to a cave in Cornwall where they have found a coffin with the remains of a young woman and her baby. If you have read the previous books in this series, you know that the victims in her stories have endured a lot of hardships and not enough love in their lives. This story will grip you by the throat and wants you to pummel some sense in the way men treat women in that particularly era. As always the characters come so much alive and you feel all the emotions of despair, hope, love and loss. We come to learn Mary and what's to become of her as she boards a ship to the Colonies and her hopes to find a better life in becoming a wife to one of the many settlers and her disappointment and struggles with her faith in God. When she finally gives in it's too late and she will loose it all. We will never know if Mary was the light that kindled the hatred by the natives to start a war on the settlers a year later after her story ended, but I like to believe it's so and only right to know that revenge has taken place. Meanwhile in her own life Quinn finally comes to meet her twinsister Jo with the help of her boss and friend Reese. After an almost deadly search in Kabul, Reese finds her in a military hospital in Germany. Jeff, Quinn's father is delighted and crosses the Atlantic to finally meet his other daughter and together they travel back to London. On their way back Jeff drops a timebomb on Quinn but we will have to wait to see how that will ends. Wendy Wolfson does an excellent job with telling this story. It took me a while to get used to her voice but now I'm totally hooked. This whole series is amazing and every story grips you tight. A real recommender.

Another solid addition to the series
1620: Having suffered years of abuse at the hands of her uncle, Mary takes a leap of faith and sets out for the New World where the promise of a new life and an arranged marriage to a colonist await. Despite Mary’s attempts to make her marriage a success, however, her husband’s indifference soon drives her into the arms of another man.
2015: When the skeletal remains of a woman and her newborn are discovered in a cave in Cornwall, the only clue to her death is a hole in her skull and indisputable evidence that she gave birth to her infant while she was sealed in her coffin. As Quinn tries to ascertain the identity of the woman, she receives news of a possible lead on her twin sister Jo, a lead that will compel her to travel to the Taliban-occupied mountains of Afghanistan. Will her dream of meeting her twin be realised and more importantly, will Jo be forthcoming?
The Condemned is the 6th instalment of the compelling Echoes from the Past series. Once again, the author has beguiled us with the tragic story of the doomed Mary, who sails to Virginia in the hopes of a new life. We are given a glimpse of what life was like for the early English settlers as they tried to establish a colony. Fans of the tv show, Jamestown will relate in particular.
As always, it was great catching up with Quinn as she juggles motherhood while searching for her twin and unraveling the mystery of her latest case. The way her character has evolved throughout the series has been a revelation. It’s hard not to be invested in characters we have come to know and love.
This is another solid addition to what has been an exceptional series. The author has done an exceptional job of seamlessly weaving the past and the present.
I received an advanced free audible copy of The Condemned and I am voluntarily reviewing it. Wendy Wolfson has once again masterfully brought the characters and story to life with her clear, concise narration. She is one of my favourite narrators for sure. I recommend this series for fans of historical fiction, dual time mysteries and psychic gifts.

Perfect combination of intrigue, suspense and Quinn
Macabre theme, captivating, brilliant, Irina never ceases to amaze me. Each of the stories she has written in this series keeps me fascinated, I can’t stop listening and when it’s finished, all my questions are answered, I’m begging for more. I especially love how she combines Quinn’s personal story with her job.
Wendy Wolfsons narration brings these characters to life, you can feel the emotion, picture the scene, narrator, author perfect combination.
Reviewed for the author for a fair and honest review.
