a great short story interpretation was fantastic

the performance of this book was ideal. Usually HP Lovecraft is a hard read for the most part, however I found myself in thralled in the tale of this short story.

Another great work by the HP Lovecraft HS

This was an amazing audio drama once again. The acting was spot on and the story was classic. The atmosphere and pace of the music was chilling. If you like HP Lovecraft or want to know some of his works you should get this.

Radio drama at its best!

I really love these! They are done so well and they give you a real feel of how it was like to gather around the radio and hear a spooky story on a Saturday afternoon. Great acting and wonderful pacing. If you like old radio plays like the Shadow, etc., here's the horror version. Well Done!

HPLHS does it again!

The performance was absolutely superb as all of the Dark Adventure Radio Theatre recordings are! I love the convenience of being able to listen to them without the CDs, although, I do still recommend purchasing physical copies purely for the splendid props!! Lovecraft wrote amazing stories and the HPLHS preforms them beautifully

Horror on the Farm

This was a wonderful scary episode of Dark Adventure Radio Theater. Very Atmospheric and frightening. A meteor lands on a remote farm. It turns out to be far more insidious than imagined. Very spooky twists at the end. Superb episode.

Brilliantly Done.

This is a really well done dramatisation and not a simple reading of the text, done into speech by the HP Lovecraft Historical Society (www.hplhs.org). It's extremely well done and fully captures the depth and existential horror of Lovecraft's original tale. We are mere playthings of a universe that is completely indifferent to the fate of individual humanity and humanity in general. Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn.

Late Halloween listen

A very well preformed audio play. Great acting, clear and understandable voice and great background effects. As for the story, well it's Lovecraft. I admit I haven't read the original story I just know the plot from a summary if there were any of Lovecraft's infamous dated views or elements cut out their not here as far as I can tell.

So much fun!

I love Lovecraft, and these guys do a great job creating a radio-show feel. It is a fun, quick listen. This isn’t one of my favorite Lovecraft stories, but only because it is more sci-fi than horror feeling to me.

A Great Adaptation

I’ve encountered various adaptations of “The Colour Out of Space” (including the recent film version by director Richard Stanley featuring Nicolas Cage) and I must say this is one of the best. It hews much more closely to Lovecraft’s original and what it does add just fills in some gaps rather than altering anything significant. Recommended to all fans of Lovecraft and old time radio drama.

Dark and brooding intergalactic terror!

Color out of Space is a tale that features an intrusion from other realms into our own, and the horrors which follow. The performance was, as always for any piece by the HP Lovecraft historical society, exceptional. The one thing that would vastly improve Lovecraft is that there are nearly no female characters of note. It is important to remember that Lovecraft is a product of his age, but it does get a little bland in that regard.
