So far, so good

Wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but I’m enjoying it so far. Lots of humor and fun. Give it a try. Each episode’s only 10 minutes.

Surprised by how delightful it is.

It's cute. It's snarky. It's funny. It's delightful. I recommend it for the young ones and for us older ones who want to smile for a change.

Stick with the original

I don’t know who the audience is for this, since it’s parodying something most people aren’t even familiar with.

GARBAGE!!!!!

I only gave it 1 Star because I couldn't give it 0 Stars.

My family has listened to the original as a handed down tradition for decades. My nieces and nephews, ages 5-12, are currently listening to and enjoying it. I even transferred it was from our old cassettes to CDs years ago so that everyone could enjoy it as they moved out from our parents house and started their own families.

Yes, it was full of childish naiveté, but that was the fun of it. It's like the old clay-mation movies and How the Grinch Stole Christmas and all the classic songs, nobody views the world that way anymore but it brings a little more joy to the season with the nostalgia and memories.

This new version is a trashy mockery of a tradition that only a small number of people even knew because it was originally a local tradition (in the Pacific North West I believe). It's clearly not even aimed at children, since they don't even use children as the main characters' voices. This is absolute garbage that should be an embarrassment to everyone that was involved with it.

Not suitable for younger kids

My son is 6. I turned this off after the first five minutes. The Tone of the story and characters simply aren’t inline with what I think is suitable for a six year old. One of the characters called another one a “jerk.” The characters are whiny and complaining. My son commented he did not want to listen to it any longer as well.

Happy to hear my old friends and their story!

I am thrilled this is available. Can't wait to hear these NEW versions. My younger brother and I listened to the original stories in the early 1950s on the radio when we were very young. This is a fantastic addition to my list of Christmas favorites. I can't wait to introduce these to my grandchildren! Thank You!

Family is loving these!

Listened to first seven today and can’t wait for next one to release on Monday! Whole family enjoying these including kids ranging from 6-12 and both adults. Recommend for an enjoyable listen on quick car trips or sitting by fire before bedtime.

Not enjoyable

Its just a weird take on the classic. Cynical, sarcastic, trying to be funny but not. I listened to the first episode with 2 six year olds. One found it interesting, the other did not. I'm with him.

Charming Christmas tale

Full disclosure- I started this because I’m a fan of both Milo and Camryn Manheim. Not sure what I was expecting but it is turning out to be a cute, quirky tale that doesn’t take itself seriously. All the cast bring their A-game and I’m tuning in on the drive home each night.

A fun little story, probably one for the kids

I thought it was quite fun, just don't take it seriously, has nothing is has it seems & full of twists and turns & very imaginative.
the kids will probably enjoy it being in short episodes & the narrator seems to be aiming it for kids, where he was getting over excited over each episode and cliffhanger, when I have already guessed something will happen & they will be fine has its a kids story and kid stories don't usually kill off the heroes.
For a freebie it was entertaining enough, though I do have one fault with it and that's the voices of the kids they sound a lot older than 8 and 10, they sound like kids in their teens and speak like they're older, I kept forgetting what their ages were until it gets mentioned.

a Christmas treat for everyone

A smart and witty telling of a Christmas classic. Narrated by NCIS's Director Vance,...oh, and Ryan Reynolds is in it too
