Publisher's Summary

A standalone contemporary romance set among neighbors, full of homespun holiday cheer, from Catherine Anderson, New York Times best-selling author of the Mystic Creek series.

Maddie McLendon hasn't had a new relationship since the loss of her beloved husband two years ago. Broken by grief and desperate for a new start, Maddie moves to Bitterroot Valley, Montana with her adult son and her grandson. But despite the natural beauty of her new town, not every change in her life is a welcome one.

Maddie's new next-door neighbor, Sam Conacher, used to be a pillar of the community, but he has driven old friends and new acquaintances away due to a recent heartbreak of his own. He seems to intrude on her life at every turn.

As Christmas draws closer, Sam's and Maddie's grown children begin to fall in love, but Maddie and Sam's interactions are punctuated by an increasingly bitter attitude. Under unexpected circumstances, the other townsfolk of Bitterroot Valley band together to show both Maddie and Sam that moving past their grief is possible, and burdens are lightened when you have someone else to depend on.

Listen...you won't be sorry!

The Christmas Room had it all. Laughter, tears, romance, fear and suspense. Susan Bennett's narration was absolutely delightful. One of the best I have listened to in a while. Wonderful story to get one into the holiday spirit.

Turned out very interest and exciting!

At the beginning of the book I thought that it was going to be just another typical/predictable love story. But it turned out to be very exciting and I found myself wanting to read it more and more.

Refreshing change from the norm!

I loved this book becasue it had a unique story line and each character had a significant role rather than being a filler or fluff. The narration was fantastic and really helped bring the characters to life. Highly recommend this book if you're looking for something with substance.

a true Christmas treat

I loved this story and the performance was just perfect. I only listen to books in car and found I couldn't wait to drive to work each morning so I could listen.

Love comes at all ages

This book was a real treat. I didn’t want it to end. Loved the older characters and found myself laughing out loud. The narrator was incredible and truly brought out the personality of the characters. This one’s a gem!

Lovely Story

This is a feel good book. It is well written and well performed. I could not stop listening. Spunky characters, snarky dialogue and a teenage boy to good to be true all make this a great listen’

So sweet

I haven’t listened to a more moving book in a long time. Full of live and redemption with just enough conflict to make it interesting. Brought me to tears more than once

Good story overall

I really liked the overall story and understand the cancer backstory but that part of it really disappointed me. I don't want to give anything away but didn't like the secret keeping part.

Outstanding narration

Great feel-good story for the holidays and an easy listen. Not a complex or compelling story, but simple.
