Story
Molly Baker is living her best life. Thirty-eight years old, she lives on the 25-acre Hope Farm in Buckinghamshire, surrounded by (mostly) four-legged friends and rolling hills. An ex-teacher, Molly runs the farm as an alternative education for kids who have special needs or behavioural issues. It's full on, but she wouldn't have it any other way. So when the well-groomed Shelby Dacre turns up at Hope Farm asking to enrol his son Lucas, Molly isn't fazed. But Lucas is distant, and soon Molly realises he might be more of a handful than she anticipated.

Story
Alice Rose is a foundling, discovered on the Yorkshire moors above Haworth as a baby. Adopted but then later rejected again by a horrid stepmother, Alice struggles to find a place where she belongs. Only baking - the scent of cinnamon and citrus and the feel of butter and flour between her fingers - brings a comforting sense of home. So it seems natural that when she finally decides to return to Haworth, Alice turns to baking again, taking over a run-down little teashop and working to set up an afternoon tea emporium.

Nice vacation book, what's next?
Perfect for a vacation or for when you just want to escape for a bit. I gotta admit I got caught up in the life of each character so much that when the story came to an end, I thought this needs to be a series. I wanted to know what happened to Louise, Josh, Kirsten, Simon, Melissa, and Martin. I would say my only gripe is how old the narrator made Melissa sound. She sounded more like a woman of 70+ years old then what her age was.

Wimpy lead character
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I thought that the story was too drawn out, could have been half the length.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Very predictable
Which character – as performed by Penelope Rawlins – was your favourite?
I didn't have a favourite.
If this book were a film would you go see it?
No, it could be squeezed into a 1 hour tv special.
