Publisher's summary

The second book in the critically-ignored comedy sci-fi series continues to solidify Wetherell's claim to the throne of Douglas Adams!

After announcing to the public that the Massive Ball of Death is coming to destroy everything, Bip finds himself locked away with the other criminally insane. Aided by his psyentific talent for exploding things and creating the random igloo, Bip manages to escape and team up with the immortal Handen Strike, the first Volunteer who ventured out to spread the Clarion’s message of total world devastation.

Joining their band of misfits is Azron, Genuine Diamond Geezer (1st class) and Xharon, a nearly nude warrior princess. Traveling across the face of Bersch, these four adventurers, albeit somewhat reluctant, must brave raging giants, the fountain of death, and savage birdmen to ensure their message reaches the ears of the very emperor who has been trying to imprison them.

With these three gems saving the world, what’s the worst that could happen?

Great books!!

So, I discovered Steve through the Authors and Dragons podcast. The more I explore these guys' books, the more I realize just how talented each of them are in their own right. What happened while playing D&D, guys? Kidding 😁 Absolutely loving this series and can't wait for more of them to be added to Audible and Audiobook format!!

Picks up right where we left off, and keeps rollin

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

TLDR, if you enjoyed the first this flows well. No major shifts in storytelling, or anything like that.

We pick-up following our hero as he tries to save the world, we finally run meet up (as the title suggests) with the immortal, first, hero. From there the adventure continues. I'll avoid any further details, that way I can avoid spoilers. The story is as wacky and silly as the first one, with continuing third-wall jokes made directly to the reader. The story is as much fun as the first one, and the characters continue to be a fun group to follow.

Overall, a great second installment, and I'm really looking forward to the next one.

Writing that is off the Chain!

Steve Wetherell has another great book with tons of unexpected and hilarious turns. I love the fact that just when I think things are going well they turn bad and visa versa.
CC Hogan adds so much to the feeling of the book it is like listening to another equally good book.
I can’t wait to hear what they do with the next one.

An author-narrator dream team

The Doomsayer Journeys is a great series, fun, adventurous, and funny, with great characters. If you're thinking about it, do it. Keywords: Pratchett, Adams, etc. It's that kind of sci-fi/fantasy humor adventure and worth the comparisons, seriously.

Steve Wetherell and CC Hogan seem somehow made for each other; the narration is delivered that perfectly.

Great Sequel that is extremely entertaining!

The Chained Immortal Book 2 of the Doomsayer Journeys was an extremely entertaining sequel and added some great new characters. It begins where the last book left off and never lets up. Like the first book it can be quite ridiculous and extremely hilarious.

The book follows Bip, Handen Strike, Azron and a warrior princess as they are on their quest to warn the world of the Massive Ball of Death that is on its way to destroy their world. Of course nothing goes as planned, at least not to their plan.

The narration by CC Hogan is once again perfect and I don't know if I could imagine anyone else doing it. If you enjoyed the first novel(and really how could you not) than you must give this one a listen as well. If you are a fan of Douglas Adams and The Hitchikers Guide I think this is the closest to being it's successor, the author Steve Wetherell has a very entertaining writing style.

Entertaining Comedy Sci Fi

This story was a pretty fantastic comedy sci fi story with some pretty entertaining characters and nods to the reader/listener like Hitchhiker's guide. I appreciated the narration as well as it's able to bring that story to life even more than it would've normally been.

I received the review code for this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left an honest review.
