I am thoroughly enjoying this series and this book is one of the best! It is fast-moving, very interesting, and of course quite scary when Enola gets into a bind. It is very well written and the performance by Katherine Kellgren is amazing.

Action packed and hard to put down!

Enola Holmes is the perfect foil for her brother, the brilliant Sherlock Holmes. The character Enola Holmes continues to grow in this novel. She is most clever, yet naive in so many ways. She creates a unique life for herself, living undercover while she runs the office of a fictional doctor who finds lost things!

The book is clever, fast paced and engaging. Page after page you wonder what is the next adventure for Enola, what predicament will she get herself into, and how will she cleverly escape!

Nancy Springer is brilliant again!

This was a great book, I enjoyed it thoroughly. It is well written and full of adventure! The language of fans and flowers never ceases to amaze me. Who knew so much could be expressed without words?Enola to the rescue! As always, the narrator can’t be beat!

Another Enola great!

I loved the book and it was well written by Nancy and I can't wait until I read the next book. Elona Holmes is an amazing character similar to her brother Sherlock Holmes.

I’ve read many iterations of Sherlock but this is one of my favorites. The stories are right on the edge of plausible while providing a level of fantasy. As an adult reader I give them an A+.

Addicted to this series.

There is nothing to dislike about this book or the series! Great stories and pull at your heart and make you root for Enola! She is smart and sassy!

The story and narration

The continuing adventures of Elona Holmes is a real treat. An independent and inventive girl who seeks freedom from the constraints of society and her two older brothers who are continually trying to capture and train her in a time when women were only meant to be ornaments to their husbands.

Entertaining and fun read

This is a great series for adults, too. I can't wait to dive into the next book.

Adult listener sings high praises

Enola struggles between the puzzle of reuniting with her mother, and helping Lady Cecily from "The Case of the Left-Handed Lady", who has gotten herself tangled into the plot of estranged relatives wanting to marry her off and bury the scandal, uncaring of the scandal they themselves will create. Ultimately victorious in this balance between work and reaching out to her mother by message, Enola is unaware of the plotting of the Holmes brothers closing in on her.

I am rather uncomfortable with the main villainous sisters here being described in a very fatphobic way.

Unwelcome Proposal
