Good Fluff Beach Read
Not super scary with a forced happy ending. Great for some fluff listening / reading. If you are listening for the first time please be aware that chapters 36 and 37 were uploaded backwards so you need to skip ahead and then back.

Good detail in the setting and love the characters.
I enjoyed the book but chapter 4 really destroyed the continuity of the real story. It appears to be from a much different book and would be disturbing for younger listeners. Chapters 36 and 37 are also reversed. Other than these issues it is a great story.

Scooby-Doo-ish
It was a good filler book to listen to. The whole plot reminded me of an episode of Scooby-Doo and the ending seemed forced. There are a couple of chapters that are reversed which made the first listen a bit confusing. There would not have been a second listen otherwise.

It was a very entertaining read. The characters were very well written. The narrator did a great job.
A cheesey at times, but in a good way. The main character was very likable, almost too good to be true.

Too similar to Hill House except with character with less depth
Although I did find this book pretty scary at first, towards the end, it just seemed to get muddled and the characters that I thought would be hiding something and have more depth all just kind of fell flat and live in their clichés.
I also really disliked the ending. It was pretty ridiculous To have such a happy ending.
I'm glad that someone pointed out that chapter 36 and chapter 37 are switched, because I thought I was going crazy.

Chapter 4 is from the wrong book
