Excellent start to a series

This was a great idea to have a female centric dragon story. I expect the next books will keep getting better.

A great listen

This audiobook was a wonderful listen. I really enjoyed the plot, setting and characters. I really enjoyed the amount of romance, action, and inner conflict throughout the story.

I love dragons, and I love my children. This book was enchanting from beginning to end. Once I started listening I could not “put it down”. The story is hooking, & the performance is magnificent. I recommend this book/series to any dragon lover, and any parent. This book has strong connections of family and love for each other. I can’t wait to share this story with my children.

Been following this series for ages

Love the author! She is amazing and the books do not disappoint! This story is so different from any I have read. I love it and I can’t wait to read the next! Definitely worth the wait!!!

OMG!!

I couldn’t stop listening to this incredible story!! Every range of emotion is so well imbedded into this story I felt it along with the characters!! I also want a newborn dragon so bad! Make the purchase for this book and find all the joy inside!!

Complete Awesomeness

I’m a huge Potter fan and enjoy stories that carry me away to another place and time. April Royer and the Caretaker did that for me. I love this book and have found myself attached to the dragons and family of Chemerie. Can’t wait for the next book!

I went right out and bought the hardcopy!

I needed a book to satisfy my dragon obsession and “The Hobbit” (much as I love it) just wasn’t gonna cut it. This absolutely exceeded my expectations!

This had all of the things I love in a good book; Action, adventure, suspense! And I loved the themes of love, family, healing, and forgiveness that were beautifully woven throughout the story!

Looking forward to sharing this book with my children. Thank you so much for sharing this rich magical world with us!

what a story!!

this story was so good, i felt like I was in the story due to all of the detail put into the book! phenomenal!

Mixed

I feel mixed about this book. I think the author would have done better writing this and marketing it more for older children to the pre-teen age group. The writing and story development is more on par with that.

The good: 1) This is a new take on dragon lore, and I like the differences as well as the lore she kept the same. 2) The story is fun and the world(s) complete.
The bad: 1) Everything falls flat from the two dimensional characters to the way everything just "falls" together time and again. She did not use the problems to create tension to carry the story telling along. 2) The book is way too long and too much is shoved into the story. 3) The writing is flat and geared more toward a child's vocabulary

This book would be safe to let older children and pre-teens read. Although there are some adult concepts, such as marriage and what that entails, this book is as G rated as a kids film. No bad language, No adult relationship "stuff". There is some kissing and light explanations about how that makes them feel. There are also minor hints at more "wicked" thoughts without ever divulging them. I think that kids would love it and find it an easy read.

As an adult, thinking this was a book for either the YA demographic or beyond, I was less than impressed. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone over the age of 12. The author has some very creative ideas though, and I hope to see her progress her talent and see what she offers in the future.
