Fake marry her brother’s best friend to catch a killer? Sure.... What could go wrong?

Growing up on a ranch with four older brothers, Ella Mae Hawkins is no stranger to rugged and tough men. But her heart has always belonged to the one man she couldn’t have.

After a secret, romantic weekend three years ago with him leaves her brokenhearted, Ella Mae accepts an opportunity to go to Paris and pursue her fashion dreams. It’s supposed to be her chance to get away and start over.

Instead, she’s going there with the same stubborn man who claimed he was too dangerous for her—as his fake wife.

Jesse McAdams, a former Army Ranger, has spent half his life away from his small hometown. But one thing has always remained true: One woman owns his heart. The problem? She could never know how he really feels.

But after their hot weekend in New York, it’s been harder than ever to resist the sassy, headstrong Ella Mae. Especially when they can’t share a room without arguing, which often leads to desire.

Joining the team at Falcon Falls Security was supposed to bring the redemption he needed, so he can finally be the man Ella Mae deserves. Instead, the fabric of lies he’s woven over time quickly unravels, exposing his secrets, and places a target on the heads of everyone he cares about.

Despite her shock over his past, Ella Mae finds herself falling for her brother’s best friend all over again. But this time, the stakes are higher. This time, she’s in danger. And the man who put her there is now her husband.

Can Jesse protect her, and piece Ella’s heart back together? Or will he shatter it? For good...

The story was good. BUT the female narrator

The female narrator was not good. Ella May sounds like a little girl. She had a good voice except when she was Ella May.

Southern Weddings And Action

loved every second of this book. Another great plot with plenty of suspense and steam. Voice actors were believable, Southern accents sometimes come off very fake and insulting. Highly recommend.

Sexy and Broken

There is just something so passionate about experiencing one of Brittney Sahin’s books in audio. She knows how to deliver the most alluring and sexy alpha male in the most exquisite way while making you wish you were the kick booty, sassy female who was in the crosshairs of his attention. Whew, so hot! The glimpses of Jesse in the other books never gave away all of his brokenness or why he was broken, and my heart bled for him as I read his story. The prologue, oh my, it opens your eyes to so much, and it makes your heart race all the way to the end because you know Ella Mae is not someone to be reckoned with. Their strength as individuals, but stronger together, is woven together so beautifully, your heart is mended by the time you reach the end.

Did not care for the narrators

The accents used by the narrators were terrible. If you don’t have a natural southern accent, you shouldn’t try to affect one. The heroine sounded ditzy. The other characters were no better.
I love Brittney Sahin books. I’ve read many of them multiple times. I’ll think twice before buying an audiobook with these narrators

Jesse and Ella

Finally, we get Jesse and Ella who we first met in "Chasing Daylight". I enjoyed it but it was long and found myself putting it down a lot when I got angry. I don't understand why everyone hates Jesse and found it to be a huge turn-off, especially considering all the other characters considered heroes in the past and present series.

As with all of this author's books it's a mix of romance, suspense, and travel. Looking forward to continuing the series.

The narrators were good nothing amazing but nothing too off putting. Tyler Johnson is new and has great potential but he needs to "act" the story a bit more. Ava Lucas is good but I'm starting to dislike her rough male voice more and more.

Slam.dunk in the series

Another slam dunk in the Falcon Falls series. Jesse and Ella's story has been foreshadowed for awhile in Stealth Ops and Falcon Falls, and fans have been waiting for their hard won HEA and to discover Jesse's secrets, and Brittney did not disappoint. This story was an emotional ride full of action, suspense, and twists and turns. And as a bonus we learn more about Carter and the rest of the team.

And the audio still took me on an emotional rollercoaster, possibly more of one, in my re-read via audio. Audio just brings it more to life, and I bounced back and forth from being wrecked to wanting to deck someone for their treatment of Jesse. Both narrators did a great job, my only stumbling block was one of Ava's female voices sounded male to me, but as that character had limited speaking parts it wasn't overwhelming.

Fabulous book

Oh my! This book was almost indescribable . It had so much to it that it’s hard to know where to start. The emotional turmoil you feel whilst reading is heartbreaking. Your feelings are dragged thro the ringer all the way thro the story. The pain and denial are palpable the whole time. Once you learn the history of these two characters pain and thoughts, your heart hurts for them. You want to scream and shout at them that it’s not their fault, this is one of the most complex stories with so many twists and turns it will keep you hooked from the first page to the last. Wonderful series and I cannot wait for the next book now! This is gonna be very intriguing I’m sure. Wonderful narration as well.

Brittney did it again! 5 ⭐️

We finally get the Jesse/Ella story and are hit with all emotions. They have had this push/pull, hot/cold thing going for years and we finally get to see all the emotions they’ve been holding back. I cried, laughed and smiled. The suspense unfolded like a cruel game, getting tenser and tenser each chapter. The book was emotional and it was so touching how Jesse and Ella showed their emotions. We had the Stealth Ops and Falcon Falls characters in the book too. Great narrators as always. Brittney Sahin sure knows how to write a fantastic romance suspense that draws you in that ends with a beautiful HEA. I can’t wait for Beckett and Carter’s books!
