Publisher's summary

Three Brides, all alike in tragedy,

from death's embrace make bold return,

One driven quite mad,

One sorrowfully sad,

and One set aside and spurned,

Imbued with weird powers

these transplanted flowers

into a new world bloom,

With virtue and charm they come fully armed

to bring evil unmerciful doom!

If you thirst for adventure, this book is a quencher,

Let doubtful hearts abide,

Suspend disbelief for the heroic mischief

of the beautiful Broken Brides,

If you prefer to weep then to tragedies keep—

Watch sorrow on some stage,

But if you crave mystery in a fanciful history

then turn to the very first minute!

This sensational sequel to The Broken Bards of Paris also ties into The Apothecary of Mantua: A Supernatural Sequel to Romeo and Juliet, brewing a stew of swords, sorcery, and poetic romance!

Exclusive Bonus Material: This audiobook features the narrative poem, "Europa and Libertas".

A fantastic adventure!

A very entertaining book! At times humorous and at times gruesome, the story has strong heroines and dashing heroes whose characters develop over the course of the narrative. I felt like Hollingsworth had a lot of fun intermixing prose and poetry and referencing historic works while writing this. The narrator did a wonderful job giving each character their own voice and personality- very talented! Hollingsworth has created a fascinating alternate history with ghosts, magic, and unspeakable evil on a backdrop of Napoleonic France and Europe.

Good listen

*Disclaimer: I recieved this book for free, but the review is honest.

To start, this is a sequel to Broken Bards which I wasn't aware of. That's said, it's still easy enough to follow without having the read the 1rst book.

The story is a great mix of genres including eldritch horrors, werewolves, Zombie esque heroines with powers with just the right dash of historical knowledge to set the scene of Napoleononic France.
It's a fairly quick moving story and I did find myself having to relisten to parts to figure out what happened as I mainly listen while working or elsewhere distracted.

the narrator does a great job with the telling. The voices do sometimes blend into each other a bit, but it isn't too noticeable

Over all, great well written book.
