The mysterious abductions of youths from the Isle of Cumbrae in the Firth of Clyde, Scotland, by shape-shifting aquatic creatures drag retired Military Intelligence Lieutenant Colonel Hamish Hamilton back into the world of lies, treachery, and greed.

After learning the truth, he must plan and carry out a blacker than black operation using British, American, and Norwegian special forces to eliminate the menace and clear out the evil once and for all. All this has to be done without the general public realizing that the creatures of their grandparent’s folktales exist around them.
