Publisher's Summary

I must break the dark curse hanging above me, if I want to rescue the one I love.

Nolan

After finding my sister crouched over our dead parents’ bodies, I had no choice but to turn her in. To numb my pain of losing my family, I drown my sorrows in wine. But trying to escape my life only makes everything worse when two girls, last seen with me, drown. Unable to bear the town’s accusations, I flee my home and seek my fortune as a traveling merchant.

Five years later, I’m forced to return to the city that calls me Bluebeard and accept my count title. My welcome is anything but warm, yet the worst is still to come. When another woman dies after being near me, I know the curse isn’t over.

Desperate to clear my name and stop the murderous curse, I find an unexpected ally in Jolie. To Hamburg’s society, she’s nothing more than a servant in my household, but to me she is a ray of hope. Her warmth and kindness break down the barriers around my heart. Her voice and piano playing entrance me, and her beauty makes it impossible to stay away.

When she becomes the latest target of the curse, I’m determined to do whatever it takes to protect her.

Will I break the curse in time, or will I have to watch on as the woman I love dies?

The Bluebeard Curse is the second book in the Cursed Fairy Tales series. Each book can be listened to as a stand-alone. However, for greatest enjoyment, the novels should be listened to in order.

Intriguing retelling

The narrator did a wonderful job moving between three points of view. This is a tale I'm not familiar with but throughly enjoyed with the mystery, drama, romance and a bit of magic mixed together by the author to tell a compelling story!

Fantastic Bluebeard retelling!

I really hadn't read any Bluebeard retellings before this one and I really enjoyed it!

When Nolan found out that his sister, Delilah, had killed their parents, he turned her in and she went to Snake Prison. Shortly after, 2 women he had last been seen with were also found dead. Rumors started that it was Nolan who killed them all and let Delilah take the fall for the murders. So Nolan left for a few years to do some trading with merchants overseas.

Upon his return, he wasn't welcomed back by anyone. He made friends with one of his maids, Jolie, and was enjoying her company until ladies started dropping dead around him again. Rumors returned that it was the curse of Bluebeard. Little did he know, it wasn't him that was cursed at all. But would he figure it out in time to save Jolie?
