A mixed bag

While this was definitely an improvement over the filler book 2, the final book ended at merely okay. My main issue was that the storyline was all over the place. I loved the time spent in the griffin kingdom and the action and intrigue involved. But, the second half of the book made little sense to me and, worse, was dull.

Overall, I had a hard time understanding how a conflict between two worlds and several realms was left to one nymph, an incubus, and a daemon to sort out. I know a fantasy series has lost me when I spend more time puzzling over the logic than anything else. I give props to the author for the ending; sometimes the messier endings a more meaningful than unrealistically wrapping everything up in a neat, perfect package. I’m glad I listened; it’s just not one of my favorites from this author.
