Amazingly helpful

There aren’t many books I have come across on this topic that give such useful insight into having a blended family. I am part of a family like this and have had a lot of things I haven’t been able to answer and deal with and this book has been great in helping me get some understanding.

This book is very helpful for the coming together of two families through the toughest challenges. This also will remind you how grateful and loving we can be towards each other and how no matter the differences between us we all can co exist. Must have book for building happy step-family.

Excellent Resource

Parenting is hard enough, but becoming a step parent adds a whole different level of complexity. I became a step parent about 10 years ago. I wish I had this book then. Well researched, but filled with personal stories and heart, this book has helped give me guidance on how build the kind of family I knew we could have, even with all our unique lovable layers.

I was looking for a book to help my daughter be a step parent to a special child. After listening to this book I wish I’d have had it 25 years ago when I was starting my step parenting journey. This book is a great resource for blended families and the trials, tribulations, and joy that occur. Certainly being a parent is difficult, being a step parent is no walk in the park either. You can’t go wrong with this book and the practical tips it provides!

This was a wonderful book, full of both practical advice as well as a compassionate take on blending families- particularly families with a child with special needs. The author makes it clear that parenting someone else's child with special needs is no easy task and can, in fact, be very difficult. She also shows that it can be one of life's most rewarding activities if done right. I really liked the personal stories and accounts from parents who have taken on the task and succeeded. It is a book full of hope and answers. I think that all step-parents could benefit from reading this book. The narrator also has a very nice, encouraging voice. I highly recommend listening!
