Excellent story with a twist.
The story revolves around the widow of Belting taking in a young orphan who he becomes quite fond of but is not accepted readily with the remaining children.
The orphan is the reader and we get his observations as the remaining children try and disprove the authenticity of the dead sibling returning from war with a story of being in a prison camp and not killed as thought.
The story concludes about halfway through and then we have another 3 hours of not really very interesting follow up and discoveries.

A great find - excellent!
If you like a post-war mystery with a bit of murder, you’ll enjoy this tale; the story is told and mystery unravelled by the observations and voice of an eighteen year old boy.
The readers voice is suitably young and fits the age of our hero; it is a well written story, which flows well, also very amusing at times too. I throughly enjoyed it and can highly recommend.
