Very well written

I always leave a star rating but rarely write a review because I’m lazy. That said I felt compelled to write a review to tell everyone how much I loved this series. It’s my first read from this author so I was a little leery, I’ve had a run of bad indie books lately so anything not written but a huge name, like Stephen King, made me a little antsy.

I am so glad I took on chance on this. Intriguing plot, well developed characters, no plot holes, and not predictable. Plus I loved the dog. Yay dogs!
The second book did NOT suffer from second book slump like so many trilogies i have read. I highly recommend this series to horror or urban legend fans.

Teen Fiction

why wasn't this marked as teen fiction? Not an adult story at all. Don't bother.

Entertaining

I loved the 3 part series and I’m starting book 4 ASAP. The main characters are great and keep you cheering them on. The story is creepy enough that I won’t listen to it at night but look forward to it the next day.

BRAVO!

Went through all three books in as many days. Ready for more. It was clean, yet scary. loved it! The narrator did an excellent job! I am sad that it is over.

Not what I was expecting

Wasn't expecting a tween story. But it was OK. The performance was very good throughout.

Sooo goood!!

Very well written. The characters are believable and I became entrenched in their world. Don't miss this one. I live in Tennessee so it was kind of fun to listen to a book with its roots in Tennessee.

Terrible Narrator

This person's voice is grating and reminds me of someone with a smoking problem. Cannot stand this man's narrations. Horrible voice.

Buck is cool 👍

this was a good book, good plot, like all the characters especially Buck. He was awesome. the narrator did a good job.

This book is 90% desperately trying to be cute and quirky and 10% story. Not really what I'm looking for, so I've returned it.

Didn't enjoy

Really disappointing, great premise, terrible execution... No fault of the narrator but all main characters were beyond unsympathetic, I listened to it all but I just wanted it to be over......

Fantastic

A brilliant storyline each book kept me well and truly hooked fantastic characters loved having Buck the dog involved throughout he was great mans best friend so true, I do hope their may be some more to follow i I wait in anticipation. The Narrator was brilliant he brought each of the characters to life,did a fantastic female voice.

I enjoyed all three book thank you, I love the twist and turns kept my interest all the way through.

Something missing

…well written, interesting story and characters but…I could not get emotionally engaged. I felt nothing for any of the characters. Yes, sure. I wanted them not to be in pain etc but the whole story left me dry eyed and with a ‘so what’ feeling. There’s zero dramatic traction. There’s no relief, no anguish, no joy. I think the closest I got to any reaction throughout the trilogy was when I laughed at one of Bashiba’s wisecracks…It’s like the author fell asleep and wrote these books on autopilot.
