Publisher's Summary

The Bell Witch is real. And her terrifying game has begun....

In Black River, Tennessee, there is a legend hiding in the shadowy trees. The Bell Witch, a vile, vindictive spirit, is said to haunt the dark woods. Driven by rage, she stalks the descendants of four ancient families - cursed bloodlines, doomed to play out her sadistic game for eternity.

Until four young survivors take a stand, and vow to end the witch’s curse once and for all. Their journey will pit them against death, madness, and demonic forces. But if they fail, the witch’s curse will claim a new generation of souls....

This volume contains books one through three of the bone-chilling Bell Witch series:

The Harvest (book one): When a member of each family stumbles upon the witch’s cursed music box, they are forced to journey into the dark and twisted woods in search of the keys to their salvation.

Sacrificial Grounds (book two): A bloody confrontation with the witch’s cult forces the group to flee into her decrepit old house, where they must each confront their darkest fears....

The Witch Cave (book three): Vowing to destroy the Bell Witch once and for all, the four survivors venture into a network of flooded tunnels, where demonic spirits torment them with nightmares of the past. And the only way out requires one of them to make the ultimate sacrifice....

Very well written

I always leave a star rating but rarely write a review because I’m lazy. That said I felt compelled to write a review to tell everyone how much I loved this series. It’s my first read from this author so I was a little leery, I’ve had a run of bad indie books lately so anything not written but a huge name, like Stephen King, made me a little antsy.

I am so glad I took on chance on this. Intriguing plot, well developed characters, no plot holes, and not predictable. Plus I loved the dog. Yay dogs!
The second book did NOT suffer from second book slump like so many trilogies i have read. I highly recommend this series to horror or urban legend fans.

Teen Fiction

why wasn't this marked as teen fiction? Not an adult story at all. Don't bother.

Entertaining

I loved the 3 part series and I’m starting book 4 ASAP. The main characters are great and keep you cheering them on. The story is creepy enough that I won’t listen to it at night but look forward to it the next day.

Not what I was expecting

Wasn't expecting a tween story. But it was OK. The performance was very good throughout.

Terrible Narrator

This person's voice is grating and reminds me of someone with a smoking problem. Cannot stand this man's narrations. Horrible voice.

Sooo goood!!

Very well written. The characters are believable and I became entrenched in their world. Don't miss this one. I live in Tennessee so it was kind of fun to listen to a book with its roots in Tennessee.

Probably for a YA readership.

This book is 90% desperately trying to be cute and quirky and 10% story. Not really what I'm looking for, so I've returned it.

Didn't enjoy

Really disappointing, great premise, terrible execution... No fault of the narrator but all main characters were beyond unsympathetic, I listened to it all but I just wanted it to be over......

More young adult than horror

An interesting premise but feels a little immature and aimed at the YA market. I also found the narration style distracting

Great series

Being honest it took me a while to get through book 3. But, books 1&2 were amazingly brilliant. Catches interest and keeps it with the building of the storylines between them all, building the characters up and explaining back stories. Great books. Good narration.

Thoroughly unlikeable characters in a messy teen f

This is teen fiction. It's not even good teen fiction.

The lore of the story seems to change whenever it's convenient. The characters are unlikeable. The villians are caricatures without depth. Plot twists seem forced into place.

There are a few really cool parts but, overall, these are bad books. Possibly even harmful to the kids who read them, given the glorification of disobedience to authority, lying to parents, even the glorification of disproportionate acts of violence against people who annoy one of the main characters. And the extreme individualism promoted in this book does not bode well for the future.
