The Bed Wife Chronicles: Love brought them together. Would tradition tear them apart?

Once inseparable childhood friends, Luana and Baylin are now grown and living in two separate worlds. Luana, the daughter of the town drunk, cares for her family’s goat farm to make ends meet. Baylin, prince and future King of Grasmere, is off combating the evils that lurk in the Kingdom. However, fate intercedes with a time-honored tradition that has been custom for the past 500 years. Luana’s life is now forced into the hands of her long-lost childhood friend.

Will resentment, hurt, and duty consume them? Or will Luana and Baylin rekindle their friendship and finally find love?

Sweet with a little bit of steam

Great storyline and characters and the narrator was simply amazing!! I caught myself smiling at some of his voices especially the old healer. Superb!! I loved the flashbacks and how they related to present situations. Their love was sweet!! And steamy at times!! Great read and/or listen!! You will be pulling for this couple from their first encounter! Fun, Fun read!!

Loved it!!

Start of the book I wasn’t sure if I would like it. As the story progressed, it drew me in. I could relate to the feeling Luana had towards being a bed wife, and the position it would put her in. I liked how the background was reviled through the story, and each scram I could see playing out, it was wonderful if written. Excited to see how the story continues.

A great start to a new series

I really liked the interactions between Luana and Baylin especially seeing their pas and present interactions. The story starts off quickly and the action moves quickly. This was my book by this author and I enjoyed it a lot. I liked the world that this author made and all the thought that went into it. There were some fantasy elements introduced in it that I hope are explored more in later books. I enjoyed how Luana stayed true to herself no matter what her family or society thought she should do. It was hard to listen to her struggle with her emotions about Baylin especially towards the end. There was some political strife that I hope gets developed more. I want to know what is going to happen next for this couple and the young prince. How will he deal with all the politics and his uncle. It was nice to get to see what he was like as a young boy and then what he developed into as he aged. Luana and Baylin were cute together and I think they will be good for each other so long as they both can survive. I look forward to where the author takes this story in the next books in the series.

Can't wait to listen to more

David Maxwell was a wonderful narrator to this. His female voices are on point showing femininity and yet tons of personality. His voice was very soothing and yet engrossing. I'd love to hear more and hope he narrates the rest of the series.

The fantasy story grabbed me from the early pages and held me on, leaving me wanting to hear/read the next story in the series. Luana is a strong fierce heroine and Balen was a very sympathetic caring hero.

When i first heard of the tradition of the bed wife i was as angered as the heroine but listening to the way that he cared for her and as she started to love him, I warmed to them. I can't wait to see how the suspense unfolds.

A Great Introduction To Suzanna Lynn's Work

This audiobook was my first introduction to Ms. Lynn's work. I'm glad that I had the chance to listen to this beginning of The Bed Wife Chronicles. But a little sad that it took me so long. That fault is mine alone because I've come to listen/read more contemporary tales and historical ones have been taken to the back burner. Our author is good at teasing which had me wanting to know "will they, won't they". It made the couple of hours pass by too quickly.

This story reminds me how far we've come since days long gone. It made me wonder how the women of today would handle the situation that Luana finds herself in. Baylin seems that he would be an honorable man whether in his own point in time or in this one. It was not hard to picture the scenes as they went by and part of that was due to Mr. Maxwell. In no way does he attempt to take on Luana's persona. I could see him as a bard and we would sitting at his feet as he tells us his latest tale. Having an accent helps the reader with the setting and how the characters might talk.

Part of my regret is the fact at how quickly this story went by. Even though I knew this was a novella, I didn't want this tale to end. I wanted some more time in the presence of Baylin and Luana. The good thing is that I can follow the Chronicles and once finished, I can go back and revisit at any time. It will make my commutes a lot more pleasurable. The author's ending left me with a smile. It will remind you what historical romances are all about.

Get swept away in this one!

I’ve struggled to get into audiobooks but this has changed my mind! I’d previously read the book but loved that I experienced the same feelings and was just as wrapped up in the story as when I read it. The narrator gives the story a soft, fable feel which adds to the fantasy and romance of it. While he doesn’t quite capture Luana’s character for me, I like his inflections and accent. A great audiobook if you want to get swept away in the romance and fight for love.

NO WORDS TO HOW GREAT!

Love, Love, Love. This is one of the best books I've ever read. It has such a great story. It reminded me of "The Princess Bride ". This was so good I could not stop listening. Suzanna Lynn did such a phenomenal job writing this book! I need the second book right now! I cannot go another day without knowing how this story continues.
