Great premise, not realistic

I loved the book and the characters, they were very well developed. I like complex espionage books with deep tortured characters. This book had a very good story….BUT. It didn't seem realistic at all. A CIA operative single-handedly gets into a secret Russian military base where secret research was happening and there was not a single moment where she was close to getting shot or captured.
