Publisher's summary

Grab this boxed set collection of the first 4 books in the Bad Company series today!

Humanity’s greatest export-Justice.

Space is a dangerous place, even for the wary, especially for the unprepared. The aliens have no idea.

Here comes the Bad Company.

Book 1, The Bad Company -

Colonel Terry Henry Walton takes his warriors into battle, for a price, in this first installment of The Bad Company. He believes in the moral high ground and is happy getting paid for his role in securing it.

Set in the Kurtherian Gambit Universe, Terry, Char, and their people - humans, Werewolves, Weretigers, and Vampires - form the core of the Bad Company’s Direct Action Branch, a private conflict solution enterprise.

Join them as they fight their way across Tissikinnon Four where none of the warring parties were what they expected.

Book 2, Blockade -

When the Bad Company learns of a human colony blockaded by aliens, they take the upgraded War Axe into battle. Once again, nothing is as it seems, but this time, they find a single enemy, evil to its core.

Ending that threat is a cause they are willing to die for. What would you do?

Book 3, Price of Freedom -

A 2018 Dragon Award Finalist

Terry and Char, take the Bad Company’s Direct Action Branch into combat to rid a world beyond the borders of a new incursion. All it will cost is the inhabitants’ most advanced technology, a miniaturized power supply that will revolutionize the Etheric Federation.

Join Terry and Char as the War Axe delivers the team to a planet well outside of Federation space where they have to convince the local aliens that the Bad Company is from the government and they’re there to help.

Join the Bad Company as they fight an enemy from their worst nightmares.

Book 4, Liberation -

When humanity is wronged by the alien AI, the Bad Company leaps to action, but only after the warriors have scattered to the four corners of the galaxy. Nothing like liberty to keep the Bad Company happy and the credits flowing, just like cheap beer.

A side trip to Earth. Vacation on Yol. Meeting a lawyer on Onyx Station. Nothing is outside the realm of possibility as the Bad Company takes much-needed time off.

When the warriors return, they find their ranks bolstered, their weapons upgraded, and their fleet has grown. What they don’t find is the enemy.

The search is on! Between the Bad Company and their target stands too many innocent lives. Join Terry and Char as they confront Ten, a galactic evil....

Join the Bad Company as they fight an enemy from their worst nightmares.

Note: If cursing is a problem, then this might not be for you.

Loved it and review is way overdue.

This is the set that introduced me to the Kurtherian Universe. I travel a lot and look for boxed sets. This one did not disappoint. I loved the characters and immediately began listening to all of the other boxed sets. TH and Char are a great pair. Love the action and humor in the stories. I recommend all the Terry Henry Walton books. Now on to my next way overdue review.

Many perspectives well organized

First I have to say that I rarely consider a audio book less than 25hrs. Making a box set like this was a deciding factor. Never having heard about this world, I quickly caught on due to the effortless way descriptions and mechanics were integrated.

The beginning of The Bad Company

I read this book(s) when it first came out, and I will admit I butchered many names. I loved the story today as much as i did back then. As I listen to the author notes at the end I had a sad smile as I learned the reason for the Captains name. An immortal remembrance in a great book.

Great set of audio books

Have not read any of the earlier books because I don’t have the time. But I will continue to the next volumes. Unlike reading Warhammer 40k and the Age of Sigmar, which my son introduced me to, I found these through someone else’s request after reading ‘Death Becomes Her’ and I have not looked back since.

Enjoyable Read

I haven't read the Series that features many of the main characters, Char, Terry, Ted, Kayden, etc. in an Earth Apocalypse scenario where they become Werewolves, Vampires & Enhanced Humans.
I normally listen to mostly military & planetary empire space opera type sci fi & almost didn't buy this book because of the otherworldly characters. I tried a. couple of books that had Magic as part of how spaceships fly & never really cared for them, so I was pleasantly surprised to find I really enjoyed this series.
This series doesn't focus on the fact that these characters are otherworldly creatures other than how their change into form can help them fight better in certain situations. There was nothing that went into how they became a werewolf or vampire or whether they could create more - none are made & no blood drinking or moon howling.
This series is basically straight up band of bad a** fighting folks who are part of a privately funded special ops team that are tasked to stop the real bad guys - as in evil people or entities that are harming other groups of entities or planets.
There are couples, but no focus on romance or sex, the main emphasis is on their missions & their relationships with all the other characters.
I think the 1st & perhaps 2nd book (sorry, memory's not great & I listened to this over several weeks in small bits on & off.), have the most fighting I. werewolf form & talk about such, but the later 2 have barely any of that at all.
There's two alien races involved & 1 from each become members of the Bad Company & make good additions. And there's a talking dog which adds to the humor.
All in all I found it a well rounded sci fi with lots of well fleshed out characters character & plenty of action & butt kicking on the ground & up in space ship fighting.
Even if you don't normally want otherworldly creatures in your space centered sci fi, I suggest you give this series a shot. I hope you'll find it was in fact a good read.
I don't think there's a 2nd box set yet, but I'll definitely get it when it comes out. That is, if Audible doesn't drop years worth of book records (& ownership) from my account so I won't be able to find this book in my records to follow up on. Be careful if you change your email that they keep your library intact. Sorry that's not related to this book but I wanted to let Audibke Members know & figured I'd throw that out here at the end.
But back to this series - buy it, & I hope you'll like it like I did.

A waste of time and money.

I love Michael Anderle,'s books. The co author of this book set is worthless. I can tell who is writing what. I have never heard of such disrespect of leadership or other people. "Ted" is a total ass even if he is a genius with asperger. He needed to be put in his place! I will not recommend this book set to anyone, and warn anyone away from it. I wasted good money on this crap.

The story did not resonate with me

I am not sure why, but I did not engage with these books as I did with the original series. It may have been that the multiple simultaneous storylines and jumping from one to the other was just too much to keep track off when just listening to the book.
