Years after a zombie outbreak paralyzes the United States by terrorists, the Chicago Districts maintain a stronghold in the Midwest. A key doctor sent to Chicago to study the Azrael virus is searching for a cure for the infection that has brought the world to its knees. After years of scavenging resources and information about these zombies, the Highwaymen have played a pivotal role in understanding man's new enemy. However, all discoveries in the past are becoming obsolete as the Azrael evolve to become more efficient killers.

The survivors that are left to scavenge the land are not only in danger from these monsters but also from the men that roam this apocalyptic landscape. Nothing is sacred in the world of the Azrael outbreak. However, all is not lost. Great champions will emerge from the crowd of dark corners that litter the world beyond the gates of Chicago.

I absolutly loved this book. I loved the new take on zombies, it was unlike anything I've read before. this is probably the best postappocoliptic book I've read.
