Good story, great reading.

Chopin is classic literature. Her messages still ring true, and this book is a fantastic addition to the canon. I read a short story of hers, "Story of an Hour," but this novel does a much more thorough job exploring those themes. It's also an easy read.

Recording could be more animated.

The voice seemed a little lifeless sometimes. Nothing too bad. Overall, the book and listening was splendid.

Well Performed

I found it difficult to connect myself to Edna. Perhaps I am too naive. I was very impressed with the reader.

white people are so boring

so sad this is such a self said feminist writing for it was so boring. the romantic descriptions were amazing but the time and setting of when it was written really overshadowed everything. the silence and normalcy slavery was written about was so terrible and is honestly the most important part of the whole text.

3.5 stars

I wasn’t a huge fan of Edna throughout the book, until the ending. Then her character made sense, it almost made me want to reread it with that thought in mind. I would give this 3 stars but I gave it an extra star because I know this story will stick with me

Good book, but I didn’t understand it

This is not a bad book. My teacher made us read it and he said it was a very good book. I only rated it the way I did because I didn’t understand the story.

Boring

The book has good use of language and the dialogue between characters flow really well. However, I would not recommend this book unless you're a fan of being bored out of your mind. Barely anything happens in the story until the end. This book is 4 and a half hours of people talking and walking around.

Excellent, modern story.

The narration is beautifully smooth and the story engaging. A clever feminist study of women and their relationship with family and partners.
