All parents of daughters and daughters should read

If you're a parent of a daughter, or a woman who's dating, this book will piss you off. But read the book and use it to learn the manipulation techniques that are potentially used against you. Forewarned is forearmed. Knowledge is power.

Somewhat Monotonous

The tone of the voice of the narrator is like he is about to tell a great secret, this tone he maintains throughout the whole book, this makes the books sound monotonous. Even though points are well illustrated, they do not stick in your mind, nor are interesting.

Hmmm... I listened twice

I liked this book and found it interesting. I would recommend it if you like learning about why people do what they do or act the way that they act. I listened twice and I am thinking about listening again. It wasn't too long or too short and was able to get a lot of information in between.

History lover's perspective

I enjoy all of Robert Greene's books but not for the purpose he intended. I am aware that many people use these books as guides or ways to achieve an end but I live these for the historical stories and the people he uses as examples in each lesson.
If you also love unique tales about odd people in history you also will enjoy the series.

Synopsis: be everything, always…. But also aloof

Great voice but tried a little too hard. Stories and concepts were intriguing. Usually enjoy Robert Greens work but this was wildly mediocre. A good listen overall, but took nothing substantial away from it in the end.

Should be retitled 🤔

The title should be "The Narcissist Handbook" how to flesh out your evil desires upon unwitting victims. Seriously educational, but as someone who has dealt with a narcissist and their plethora of lies and manipulation, I couldn't help but see the similarities between many of their characteristics outlined in this book and narcissistic abusers. One can only hope more people are finishing this book for understanding rather than utilizing the tactics outlined to manipulate people.

A narcissist’s playbook

The narration for me was compelling. I would have liked to have been given more specific examples of the concepts being applied. The author offered some historical instances where concepts were applied, but I still would have liked more. If wishing to be a narcissist is your bag, this book is for you. If you want to have a pretty moral and ethical relationship, this book is probably not for you. But…I was able to take some of the concepts and apply it to a relationship I was in, and it was totally play by play. Wild stuff.

Interesting and well read

Great argument and “tips” but I read it to get an idea if seduction within conversation even…and it worked. It’s a great book for the idea of seduction or for actually seducing people..hopefully your ethics won’t allow you to go all the way. But the formula is there and it’s good to know what people could be doing to you. Great book. I love Robert Greene’s ideas and writing style.

Always Been A Favorite

Even though this is an abridged version, it is WONDERFUL. It is wonderful because the author ALWAYS gives superb historical examples of his topics and why they hold true. All books by this author are phenomenal. A must read for anyone, even "non-seducers"-if there are any left in this world after reading this;)
