I picked this up expecting either a debunking or a believer’s argument, and it’s neither. That’s what makes it work.

The Anthropology of Bigfoot treats the subject with a level of restraint and seriousness I honestly wasn’t expecting. The author doesn’t try to prove Bigfoot exists and doesn’t mock the idea either. Instead, the book asks a smarter question: why does this phenomenon persist, and what does it look like when you examine it through ecology, anthropology, and human perception rather than folklore?

Even if you remain skeptical, the arguments are coherent and grounded enough that they make you pause. The sections on witnesses and fear responses felt especially honest and human, without turning anecdotal accounts into “proof.”
