Wonderful story telling that continues from book to book, and series to series.
I love Brian Jaques books, and reread them often. My fondness of them has not lesser since my childhood. His books are timesless and wonderful no matter how many times you read or listen to them.

would have been 5 star but
the whole first half of the book had ben and ned as harbingers of death and bad luck. They ultimately helped no one (as was supposed to be their involvement in anything they do) and in doing so lost the plot set up in the first book. the author then set up a chance at redemption in the ending and, in my opinion, bungled it. The second half was the 3 star.
