Publisher's Summary

Little known fact about being a werewolf: There are always wolves at your door and some of them are up to no good.

Chloe Weiss' dreams have finally come true: She's a null no more, her wolf has finally come. She's now a full member of her pack in the remote Appalachian "weretown" of Hunstville.

Even better, she's mated to the pack's next alpha, Jackson Swift. However, now that she's on the other side of her happy ending, things aren't quite as rosy as she'd expected.

The women of her pack resent her status as alpha's mate and suddenly there are rumors that Chloe is an Omega, a werewolf so weak they are banned from ever mating. Worse, an old friend of Jackson's blows into town full of disapproval.... and competition. It seems no one likes Chloe except Jackson.

Then women start disappearing, violently kidnapped from their homes and never heard from again. There's a killer on the loose in the small town of Huntsville, and the one wolf he'd do anything to have is Chloe.

Now Chloe will have to fight... for Jackson, her place in the pack, and her life.

This stand alone audiobook is a sequel to the best-selling To Bring Her Wolf.

My ears are bleeding

Why does the narrator think that a southern accent is equivalent to high pitched whining? She sounds like she is crying no matter what she is trying to say. I couldn't even finish it. I might read the Kindle version but I can't listen any more and I haven't made it to the halfway point.

Horrible narrator

What disappointed you about The Alpha's Mate?

The story is pretty good, but the narrator is horrible - too damn annoying. They should have stayed with the original narrator Rose Caraway
Just because the story is set in the southern Appalachians, so unnesscery

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Audrey Lusk?

Original narrator - Rose Caraway or Amanda Ronconi if you need that southern drawl.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The story was really good.

Sorry but the Narrator was Awful.

What didn’t you like about Audrey Lusk’s performance?

She was very enthusiastic but I couldn't listen to her. I didn't finish the audiobook. It was whiney and she made the alpha sound slow.

Any additional comments?

I do plan on reading the e-book. The first book was enjoyable so I do think I'll enjoy this one, Just not with the narrator.

Hard listen..

Didn't care much for it at all. Not much of a storyline, no depth and pretty random. Didn't care for narrators voice, super whiney and way over accented.

Couldn't listen any more

I was looking forward to this book. But from the first words I was cringing. I couldn't make it past chapter 5. She sounded so grating and just annoying. The only reason I made it that far was because I was driving and could change books while moving.
I might try the Kindle version but I might still hear it in that voice in my head.

Sexy Book, New Narrator

This is the second book in the series, and it definitely builds beautifully on the last book. I truly enjoyed the listening to Chloe's growth and watching her come into her own after being a Null her entire life. It is definitely steamy! Great sexy scenes, Michelle Fox writes great dynamic, sexy, fun-loving characters and story. I recommend that you keep reading the series! However, I had one issue - There was a new narrator for this book. So it is harder to do a switch of the internal voice. Additionally, the first narrator and the second narrator used drastically different accents in each book. The narration was not what I had anticipated when starting this book. I feel like the narrator could be really good with some extra work on her southern accent. Unfortunately, it came off sounding fake and forced and she often sounds in pain during sexy scenes. But a great imagination and a great story means you can truly enjoy this story!! Ciera is a fierce woman who is ready to go to hell and back from her sister, literally... This story is a light Reverse Harem (so far!) and features some amazingly sexy and interesting characters. This is a retelling of Dante's Inferno, so you get to enjoy the excitement of the rings of hell while also getting to watch the characters grow and get better. I truly enjoyed this story and would recommend it to anyone who has a love of the paranormal fun in hell! Hiral Varsani is a great narrator! I had never heard anything from her before, but I really enjoyed her different voices and her narration! I can't wait to listen to the rest of this series! #AudiobookObsessionReviewer

Holy cow what happened

I struggled through this book solely because of the narrator. The sample piece was definitely not a good representation of the book. I know the book is a good book because I read it on kindle but man the narrator shredded this book to pieces with her performance. I know that sometimes the it takes a few chapters for the narrators to get their groove with a book so I was hopeful. But nope there were a few paragraphs where her performance was good (I’m assuming these were the ones they picked for the sample) I would highly recommend this book be re-recorded with a different narrator. I hate leaving low reviews as I know a lot of work goes into recording and producing and that not everyone can do accents. I would prefer you read naturally than to overdo a bad accent. Such as when this narrator was in straight narration mode but when she gets into the “acting” parts holy cow is she bad. It’s like she’s trying to make love scenes into parodies instead of making them steamy. #AudiobookObsessionsReviewer #CristinasAudiobookObessions

Werewolves run the town, but when the next Alpha picks a mate the town side with the old girlfriend. The town picks on her every chance they can to make her think she isn't his true mate. When a rouge alpha starts taking females Who will save the town??? Audrey Musk did a great job on this audio.

Want more claiming

I felt frustrated with the book because I didn't care for the hero. He kept doing things I didn't like or thought was rude. Alpha's should be protective. He seemed oblivious instead. Felt bad for all the crap the pack put her through. She should have been higher ranking just because she was the alpha's mate. But no respect. Just felt frustrated with that. Otherwise a good story. The narrator did a good job. #AudiobookObsessionReviewer
