Absolute life changer

I've found the audio book so motivating. It has really opened my eyes to how alcohol can take over your life. I listened to the book day by day and this has kept me on track to successfully complete the 30 days. Thank you Annie.

life changer

I don't normally write reviews but felt compelled to write as this book and it's strategies has completely changed my life, my views on alcohol and my drinking habits. I listened to it twice and now for the first time in 30 years have a much better relationship with alcohol. If you want to cut back or stop, this is a great tool to help you do that and explains our emotional attachment to alcohol, the scientific and the harm :)

Very helpful in my quest to quit drinking

Really enjoyed the neuroscience information as well the exercises. Each time I think about wanting a drink, my mind immediately thinks about how it effects my mind and body, which stops the ‘wanting a drink’ thoughts in their tracks.

It’s been 30 days, now I feel I can really stop my subconscious mind taking control of the situation.
Thanks Annie, you really are making a difference in people’s lives.

Last chapter I cried

I was already abstaining due to my ongoing heart condition but I was struggling to stay positive. Thank you so muxh Annie for making this journey much easier. The ACT technique is definately a life saver.

Common knowledge on alcohol, & gender bias throughout

Should a woman have to put up with mediocre sex?
Statistics on alcohol related abuse against women but not men!
Gender bias comments throughout!
This book is written by a far right feminist with a clear bias against men, using them in many negative ways to back up dangers of alcohol.
Statistically it may be true that men are higher perpetrators than women in the illustrations discussed, but not once are females generalised negativity in an example.

This book is very preachy also... The writer try’s hard to make the reader believe she does not expect you to stop drinking forever as she did, but it is very obvious that is what the narrative is aiming to achieve.
Equally it using scare tactics that make a glass of wine after work the equivalent of a bag of heroine.

I only listened to 10 chapters. That was enough.

Have read books like this before. And thought I'd give the dry January a boost after having read good reviews here I wanted to give it a go despite the negative ones, but have to say I found it quite patronising, and off-putting. Then didn't want to continue beyond that point. Think this is probably more suited to someone less experienced in this kind of book... or someone less experienced with self discovery on the whole. I could have carried on skipping through it, but nobody wants to do that all the way through. I'm sure it will be good for some, but it wasn't the one for me.

Definitely more conscious

You are wonderful to listen to and I am taking a longer term view on drinking less . Alcohol is my enemy and maybe I’ll stop one day but it’s been a tough battle to admit that and it’s really stuck in my head.
