Don't waste your credit

This book is 90% soap opera and 10% thriller. I forced myself to finish listening.

What did I just listen too

The MOST implausible and insipid book I’ve listened to in quite awhile. Warning: SPOILERS AHEAD!!! The main characters undergo a series of ridiculous tragedies and calamities....in the matter of a few days one of the main characters experiences the loss of his infant son, discovers his wife had an affair and that his daughter may not be his, has said daughter kidnapped and drugged, finds out his wife was raped, is betrayed by his SIL, gets stabbed, oh and did I forget to mention that his parents and sister were all murdered? Just pure drivel.

What an awesome book

From the beginning to the end, this author captured my attention and held it all the way through. Definitely worth the money. The presentation by the narrator put this into my top favorite books. Loved it!!! 😀😀😀

Awesome!! Absolutely love it!

I absolutely love this book. Great story. Perfectly flawed characters. I hurt so badly for Justin. I wanted to slap Alicia. I wanted to ground Sophie. I wanted to beat the heck out of Jess. And I wanted to kill Paul. The only thing I see wrong with this book is that I don’t consider it a psychological thriller. But I don’t care what genre it’s in, I highly recommend it.

Jumping to Conclusions

The thing that bothers me more than anything else in this story is that the characters all jump to an unfounded conclusion about the paternity of the daughter. All of the characters act the way they do in the story because of that assumption, which makes me want to scream. Find out for sure the paternity of the child and then the actions make more sense, but are way out bounds if there is no proof of the paternity. This is such a basic flaw in this story that it ruined the whole story for me.

BORING. ALSO AVOID THIS NARRATOR.

From the beginning the narrator was extremly difficult to listen to. I struggled thinking the book would pick up. Wrong. Avoid this book and anything read by this narrator.

Thriller?

I would not consider this book a thriller. Moves very slowly and not as captivating as I had hoped for.

Great

This was a very emotional read, more so than I expected. Written from several points of view, the reader gets a full insight into what each of the characters are thinking and feeling. I could feel the anguish and frustration of Justin mounting with every page, whilst Alicia's heartbreak and pain was palpable. This book definitely packed an emotional punch.

I listened to this on audio. The narration was very good and the character's easily identifiable.

Too obvious and boring

I thought it had a strong opening but after that everything went downhill. Too many slow parts. Characters were underdeveloped and unlikable. I'd hoped there would be a bigger twist but there wasn't. I keep choosing the wrong books 😭

Not overly engaging

I loved a previous book by the same author so was really looking forward to this. The last parts were good but other than that it struggled to keep my attention.

Brilliant

Loved it! Kept me interested all along so much do that I got next to no work done and lost sleep for 3 days! But the dog enjoyed his longer walks at least!
Love Tamsin Kennards narration as always.
I did guess the ending but it didn’t spoil the book. Just bought the babysitter to give a whirl.

a great listen

thoroughly enjoyed this book from the start, the concepts involved were great and flowed very well together. the characterisations were very good. it was a great tale of pointing out dangers involved within the different concepts and scenarios. The final chapters were thrilling and the twist.... well! It was well read.

Quite Good

Lots of tragedy and a catalogue of disasters leading to a bit of an improbable scenario but an enjoyable read nonetheless. Not sure the twist at the end was exactly a surprise but still justice got done. Not too sure about the narrators male voices but ignore that and it’s worth a listen.

Not the greatest listen!

Long winded. Copious use of word extensions - confusedly, bewilderedly.
The story and plot weren’t bad but read so slowly especially at the end if each chapter. So much so that I thought my phone’s battery had died several times.
Reader’s voice grated before halfway through book. :(

Twists and Turns

A good read in the genre. I enjoyed thinking about who ‘dit it’ and why throughout the story. The narration was excellent and characters believable.

had to re-listen to get the gist of what was happening-quite a lot of tension & emotion all the way thru - still enjoyed it & like the author & narrator.
