Adam Smith (1723 – 1790) was a Scottish philosopher and economist. A prominent figurehead during the Scottish Enlightenment movement, Smith is best known for his works The Theory of Moral Sentiments (1759) and The Wealth of Nations (1776). Regarded as the ‘father of capitalism’, Smith championed free markets, free trade and the division of labour.

The King of Economics

Great to have both Smith's towering works included in one book. Very clearly and fluently read by Ben Allen. The books compliment each other greatly and are really interesting to listen to one after the other to see how Smith's work evolved and, of course, how his work is still so influential today. A great credit to spend.
