Story
Things are finally looking good for Captain Frey and his crew. The Ketty Jay has been fixed up good as new. They've got their first taste of fortune and fame. And, just for once, nobody is trying to kill them. Even Trinica Dracken, Frey's ex-fiancée and long-time nemesis, has given up her quest for revenge. In fact, she's offered them a job - one that will take them deep into the desert heart of Samarla, the land of their ancient enemies. To a place where the secrets of the past lie in wait for the unwary. Secrets that might very well cost Frey everything.

Darian Frey is down on his luck. He can barely keep his squabbling crew fed and his rickety aircraft in the sky. Even the simplest robberies seem to go wrong. It's getting so a man can't make a dishonest living any more. Enter Captain Grist. He's heard about a crashed aircraft laden with the treasures of a lost civilisation, and he needs Frey's help to get it. There's only one problem. The craft is lying in the trackless heart of a remote island, populated by giant beasts and subhuman monsters.

Story
Frey is the captain of the Ketty Jay, leader of a small and highly dysfunctional band of layabouts. An inveterate womaniser and rogue, he and his gang make a living on the wrong side of the law, avoiding the heavily armed flying frigates of the Coalition Navy. With their trio of ragged fighter craft, they run contraband, rob airships, and generally make a nuisance of themselves. So a hot tip on a cargo freighter loaded with valuables seems like a great prospect for an easy heist and a fast buck. Until the heist goes wrong, and the freighter explodes.

Story
This set includes all three books in AC Cobble's Cartographer Series. A pair of unlikely investigators walk a dangerous path into the past, uncovering secrets best left alone in this dark, fantasy thriller. The fate of empire is to crumble from within. A heinous murder in a small village reveals a terrible truth. Sorcery, once thought dead in Enhover, is not. Evidence of an occult ritual and human sacrifice proves that dark power has been called upon again. Twisting threads of clues lead across the known world to the end of a vast empire, and then, the trail returns home.

In the realm of Isodoro, just two things stand between Alliance lands and the spears and muskets of the orcish hordes: the wizards of the Order and constant infighting amongst the orcs themselves. In the Alliance capital, young Wit has just been promoted from apprentice to full wizard - and saddled with the very unglamorous task of traveling to a distant iron mine to inspect it for fraud. Worse yet, he's partnered with Wa'llach, a drunken dwarven prisoner who's killed more people than most plagues. Yet those skills are about to become very handy.

When Minalan the Spellmonger was exiled from his beloved mageland of Sevendor by Prince Tavard, his friend Duke Anguin made him Count Palatine of the Magelaw, a vast realm in the Alshari Wilderlands with which Minalan is all too familiar. After the goblin invasion, the province is devastated, ruined, and peopled almost only by freed slaves. Publisher's Summary
All good things come to an end. And this is it: the last stand of the Ketty Jay and her intrepid crew.
They've been shot down, set up, double-crossed and ripped off. They've stolen priceless treasures, destroyed a 10,000-year-old Azryx city and sort-of-accidentally blew up the son of the Archduke. Now they've gone and started a civil war. This time, they're really in trouble.
As Vardia descends into chaos, Captain Frey is doing his best to keep his crew out of it. He's got his mind on other things, not least the fate of Trinica Dracken. But wars have a way of dragging people in, and sooner or later they're going to have to pick a side. It's a choice they'll be staking their lives on.
Cities fall and daemons rise. Old secrets are uncovered and new threats revealed.
When the smoke clears, who will be left standing?

Utterly Brilliant!
I'll admit it - I spent the last half an hour or so in tears! I came here for Rupert Degas, and stayed because Chris Wooding's Tales of the Ketty Jay is excellent! The characters are developed so well, it's like getting to know new friends; the plot is fast-paced and original, and, best of all, at the end the author didn't do what you expected him to do ;). Thank you, Mr Wooding, for your wonderful story (any chance you could write some more?). And thank you, Mr Degas, for bringing the Tales of the Ketty Jay so brilliantly alive.

Tender Hooks through out
What can I say other than this is a perfect ending to a great series. I thoroughly enjoyed this book even though I felt as if Wooding purposely teased us with character deaths. Making us believe in their death up until the point where you begin accepting it... Then he reveals it to be a red herring and your like "URRGGHHH. Damn you." Highly recommend this book and series. Rupert Degas is an absolute legend and my favourite narrator. He gives life to all the characters and keeps you entertained throughout. It's almost a shame this is the last one in the series but a great ending. Will definitely be listening to the whole series again. 5 stars

This series got better & better.
I enjoyed all of these four novels. They’re each one a superb tale. Violent, mysterious and at times totally hilarious. I shan’t go into ‘spoiler’ detail. Just give you some observations. Malvery has become one of my favourite characters ever. A rotund alcoholic, but a man of great depth, honesty, loyalty and bravery. He is often the funniest of the bunch. I loved the whole daemon aspect. Appreciated the world building. Couldn’t help but visualise Harrison Ford’s Han Solo every time ‘The cap’n’ talked. Was pretty much hooked from start to finish. Found the ending a slight let down. One of the best narrations I’ve listened to. Brilliant accents and really brought the whole thing to life. I’m missing the crew of the Ketty Jay already....

Well all good things come to an end sadly. I will miss the crew of the Kitty Jay. Sci Fi isn't my favourite genre however this series has become one of my all time favourite reads \listen. Superb characters\world building and great stories, no weak book no weak plots or sub plots, at no time was there an urge to rush through segments, speaks volumes on how good the whole journey with the crew was. Narrator was superb. No one could have done a better job. If you enjoy sci fi, Firefly and just a good adventure you can do no wrong here. In fact I recently listened to a couple of Firefly novels and though good I much preferred the adventures of the Kitty Jay than the Firefly. Highly recommend
