Publisher's Summary

Ever since an accident turned her into a knockout vamp, Elvi Black's been catching her z's in a coffin, staying out of the sun, and giving up garlic. She knows there's more to being undead than what she saw in Dracula, but she can't very well ask her mortal friends about proper biting etiquette.

But when her neighbors placed a personal ad for her in the local paper, she never imagined she'd meet Victor Argeneau, a vampire who could have his pick of any woman - dead or alive. Rich, powerful, and drop-dead gorgeous, Victor's the perfect man for a novice neck-biter like Elvi. He's willing to teach her everything he knows, but he'll have to do it fast. Someone's out to put a stake through her new vamp life, and only Victor can keep her safe - and satisfied - for all eternity.

Love in vein: listen to more tales of the Argeneau Vampires.

No missing chapters

The entire book downloaded for me. The narrator is horrible, but I still enjoyed the book.

The Accidental Vampire

The book was good - Only problem was the recording wasn't complete. The last 5-10 minutes was missing. It like reading a good book and the last 5 pages are missing

Last Chapter missing

I enjoy all of Lynsay Sands books. They make me laugh. However I can not recommend this one because the last chapter is missing. Victor was just about to talk with his brother, the head of the Vampire Council when it ended. I have notified audible.com and hopefully they will be able to find the missing chapter and add it to Part 2.

The Accidental Vampire

The last chapter of the book is missing, so it has no finish. I wrote Audible about this and they said they were "checking". Hopefully they will be able to get this fixed. Otherwise the book is great.

the Accidental Vampire

They forgot to put in the last chapter. I'm serious. Chapter twenty-one of the book was left out. It cuts off after chapter twenty and leaves the wrap-up 'un-wrapped'. I had to go to my copy of the book and flip to the back to finish the story because it's not part of the audio book I just bought. (The rest of the book was great but it p!$$ed me off to not get the ending of the book.)

Annoying narrator

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

A different narrator with animation and the ability to do a decent accent.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The story line of Evie becoming a vampire by accident was pretty clever. The impromptu shopping trips when she realizes she has been suffering needlessly are very entertaining and funny.

How could the performance have been better?

I do NOT like Victoria McGee's narrating. I listen to her because I enjoy this series, but I wish the publisher/author/promoter would STOP asking her to narrate. She is boring. Her voices for men and accents are not good and she has no enthusiasm or animation in her voice.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Accidental Vampire?

None

Any additional comments?

Stop hiring Victoria McGee.

Ok.

This book was ok from this series. I just think it was a little outrageous with the whole town protecting a vamp, but it works since Sands explains the closeness of the town’s relationship with the main female character

Another funny instalment

Would you consider the audio edition of The Accidental Vampire to be better than the print version?

Having read the book and listened I would say they are both good but I did enjoy reading the book a touch more

Who was your favorite character and why?

Mable was my fav just because it was so funny when she was riding until the cows came home lol !

What three words best describe Victoria McGee’s performance?

Good character voices

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Young again! And dead?

Any additional comments?

The narrators characters voices performance was good but I found her general reading voice of the story a bit to paused and breathy a little bit distracting but ok.
