Publisher's Summary

Legendary leadership and elite performance expert Robin Sharma introduced The 5AM Club concept over 20 years ago, based on a revolutionary morning routine that has helped his clients maximise their productivity, activate their best health and bulletproof their serenity in this age of overwhelming complexity.

Now, in this life-changing audiobook, handcrafted by the author over a rigorous four-year period, you will discover the early-rising habit that has helped so many accomplish epic results while upgrading their happiness, helpfulness and feelings of aliveness.

Through an enchanting - and often amusing - story about two struggling strangers who meet an eccentric tycoon who becomes their secret mentor, The 5am Club will walk you through:

  • How great geniuses, business titans and the world’s wisest people start their mornings to produce astonishing achievements.
  • A little-known formula you can use instantly to wake up early feeling inspired, focused and flooded with a fiery drive to get the most out of each day.
  • A step-by-step method to protect the quietest hours of daybreak so you have time for exercise, self-renewal and personal growth.
  • A neuroscience-based practice proven to help make it easy to rise while most people are sleeping, giving you precious time for yourself to think, express your creativity and begin the day peacefully instead of being rushed.
  • ‘Insider only’ tactics to defend your gifts, talents and dreams against digital distraction and trivial diversions so you enjoy fortune, influence and a magnificent impact on the world.

Part manifesto for mastery, part playbook for genius-grade productivity and part companion for a life lived beautifully, The 5AM Club is a work that will transform your life. Forever.

Very rich in content, but poor in presentation.

I am a big fan of Robin Sharma and like most of his podcasts. I was looking forward to listening to this book for a while, but I must say that it is not what I expected, at least the presentation is not.
The book is great in terms of contents; it is full of inspiring ideas and great quotes (typical of Robin Sharma), but they are presented through a cheesy story which I found distracting, and at times annoying. It would have been a five-star book, if the contents were delivered in a normal direct way, and read by the author himself.

Big change in life after knowing this philosophy

Actually, I first found out Robin Sharma (the author) in his Youtube Channel. I watched at least 10 videos of him talking about leadership and the 5 am club and methods. After some days practicing the 20-20-20 formula, I learned about this book. It was very cool because I started to listen to it while I was in my first pocket 20 from the 20-20-20formula of each day, so it stimulates me more than ever.

The history is good, but the writing is too romanticized and little bit often repetitive. But the overall is great since there are some very good insights craved on it. I would love to have the best points resumed somewhere, where instead of 11h of audio, we would have bonus audio with less than 1 hour. For our luck, there is a PDF where you can download after reading resuming the concepts. I suggest to print it out and write your interpretation of each point from the audiobook.

As bad as it gets

I’ll start by saying that The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari by Robin Sharma is one of my favourite books but don’t waste your time investing in this. The teachings are general good outside of some ridiculous notions like ‘invest in 2 massages a week or prepare to die early’. But you don’t need the book to learn the teachings, there is more than enough information online as Robin has been spouting about this stuff for years. As for the story, it is terrible beyond belief, so corny that it’s a struggle to finish. Some people have complained about the narrator but nobody could save this mishmash of a story, the characters are dreadful, the storyline is so farfetched it is ludicrous, the Entrepreneur ‘twerking’ across a room is a typical example of how cheesy the story is. It is actually idiotic at times, I’m not sure what Robin is aiming for here but its so far off the mark, it is written as a book for children. Only a Robin Sharma fanboy would give this 5 stars.

True Pearl if you listen closely

The concept is simple, get up early. But it’s all in the details. This story makes is easy to never forget. It makes it easy for us to listen to while walking, jogging, riding, skiing. Yes the narrator could have been picked better, but after 10min your completly ok. The victim will be trown down by the way someone looks, or talks. The leader will listen closely and acts on the content one of the most thoughtfull leaders of our time.

Good lessons, not so good story

I liked a lot of lessons in the book, but overall story sounds like a tv ad:
1. A couple of characters were living miserably
2. They started following 5am routine (along with a bunch of other practices)
3. They found true love, magnificent success, and lived happily ever after.

Robin gets points for depth of his perspective and breadth of his knowledge. I would like to read more books from him, but I hope he doesn’t pretend them to be novels anymore.

Loved it. Mastery principle would change your life

Excellent reading. Robin Sharma at his best. The fable luxuriously liver by the principle of personal mastery. the teachings are completely implementable and lived by. Audible version is one the best that I have ever listened to, perfect reading by Adam Verner.

an enjoyable journey

I really enjoyed this audio book. It's basically a whole bunch of practical principles put together in a story form to teach you how to perform better and live a more elevated life. The story is a bit cheesy and feels almost like a cheap copy of a Dan Brown novel, but still enjoyable. Good job Robin Sharma

Brilliant book

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. A story set within the message, reinforced by motivation, affirmation.

Dreadful narration

I have been looking forward to reading the 5am club since I Pre ordered the book several months ago. I like to also have a audio version of some good books when I am on the go . Very disappointed with the Narators voice, trying to play the parts of the characters. I’ve had to stop listening after 3 chapters as it is honestly so dreadful. I am sure having read several of Robin Sharma books the print copy will be amazing but my opinion is do not bother with the audio. Awful acting voices!

couldn't get past chapter 3 of this total drivel. I thought there was a way of sending back. I would like to redeem my credit as I feelbi have been robbed with this one. I would give it negative stars if I could.

NOT what you expect, and NOT in a good way

This book seems to be an attempt to mate a self help book with a fictional story. Unfortunately the key points of the self help were completely lost, jumbled up in the dull plot of the story where neither of the characters even have a name, instead identified by their job title. For the first time in over a hundred Audible downloads I feel like I want a refund.

Get the book instead

As a long time fan of Robin Sharma's work I was expecting a lot from this audio book but was hugely disappointed.
Firstly that the author didn't narrate the book himself, surely after working on the book for four years he would want to personally deliver the message to his audience.
Secondly, I'm used to the storytelling nature of the authors books and enjoyed his other titles but the story here is absolutely ridiculous to the point where I was going to return the title after the first couple of hours. The narration is also awful as the narrator is constantly changes voices to represent the characters which just doesn't work. The characters are so clichéd as well it's embarrassing to listen to the language they use in the story.

There are a few good concepts in the material but a lot of it is repeating the material the author has been sharing on social media for the last few years.

All in all I would say to avoid this audio book and just buy the physical book instead, then you can extract the useful material from it.

full of superlatives, cheap motivational course

95% of the first couple of hours are filled with words like "legendary, world builder, higher potential, wonderful…" Not one sentence is based on science, it is just like a very cheap motivational speakers course.

Could not get passed those first couple of hours, hope that the narrative changes later in the book. Will be returning this title on Audible for something better.

A little bit of biography of Robin? Super engaging

Firdt I did read some of thr 1* reviews on amazon. Which were meant possibly for the print version. I was skeptical and started to listen being aware of inherited opinion from those reviews expecting a dislike? With this attitude I had to push myself to listen through the first chapter. Then the second. And all the way thinking:"I did follow the IG reports Robin was giving while writing this book, it simply can't be bad! And slowly I started to understand. Now I am in Rome, I mean in the part of the book and I LOVE IT!!! Every single bit of this book is genius. I get why Robin made it a story not a study script/book. I love the way this speaks to me and totally willing to (finally!) going back to the #5amclub which I started in 2014 when I read his book Who will cry... I loved 202020 and I gave up. I went back in 2016 and I loved it again and gave ot up again. Always I was up since and did some exercise and planning and learning on the morning I remembered how much I loved it. Just couldn't commit. I was 100% committed to "feel like". I am finishing this book and scheduling my first 66 days. No more time to waste. Love it! ❤️ Thanks Robin Sharm🙏😘❤️✨😘

Better story lines in porn

Wow, this book needs to be 1 page! Wake up a 5am and spend the first hour of the day exercising, meditating and learning. Done! Instead, the author decides to create the most 2 dimensional characters ever dreamt up and created the most boring love story man has ever known. Its actually wild that a publisher gave this the green light. This is just a pithy story line buffed up with hundreds of quotes by a very condescending narrator. I am getting a refund!

Hard work but so worth it!

The story telling and the narration can be a little hard to get through and a little cringe worthy some of the time but the message and lessons are so so powerful and so worth it! Most life changing and impacting non-fiction book I’ve ever ‘read’. 5 stars for the message one star deducted for the story style format and narration.

An Inspiring Message and Method

The 5AM Club sets out an approach to master early rising and greater productivity.
The story is narrated through the voices of four main characters, and takes them on a global journey of self discovery and more. While Robins' literary style remains similar to that used in The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari, the technique of inserting the key principles of the 5AM Club in the narrative is effective.
The underlying philosophy is sound and based on solid research and years of anecdotal proof and set out in an easy to adopt manner, but the actual story is excruciatingly clunky and painful to listen to.
Don't listen to this story, just apply the principles and you'll be many hours better off.
