Cute story

A bit slow, but matched the pace of life I imagine for the period of the setting. And I enjoyed the change from so many of the over-used formulas of other romance novels. The narrator’s voice was rather irritating at first but I got used to it. Except for Sage’s voice which sound more like a 90 yr old vs 19 y.o. she is described.

Slow burning romance

One of the better western historical romances, really enjoyed it, will definitely download the next book in the series.

Whispering Mountain

One of the best historical romance series I’ve ever heard. I love Jodi Thomas and I love Linda Stevens. I would recommend to anyone that asks.

Couldn't put the book down.

I bought this as light entertainment but found myself intrigued with the characters and the story. The characters ranged from widows, independent women, barmaids, a dishonest and abandoned landlady, Rangers and a whole family of bad guys. This was a very enjoyable book!

Enjoy this book

I really enjoyed this book. Love the different aspects of the stories. I’m not a big fan of the narrator. I feel her voice is too old for the characters.

A wonderful story

First book I read by this author but want be the last. She is a great writer. Stayed up to 5 in morning just couldn’t put it down.

Great Texas story!

Sweet story, good pace, and intriguing characters. A wonderful way to spend a few hours going back to a simpler time…or NOT so simple after all! Lots of twists & turns, historical accuracy and good ending. Linda Stephens may be one of the best narrators EVER!!

Really a great Texas based Western. I loved the multiple charectors. Very unique outlook from several of the main charectors.

Wonderful Story all the way through.

I did not dislike this book. I love Texas and good mysteries and wonderful love stories

My thoughts: I was browsing my Audible collection only to discover I had 10 hours to play this book. So I had no choice but to stay up with it through the night. On the bright side, it only took 8.5 hours including interruptions and an unwanted nap. Overall it was a great story but I don't regret putting it off, as I'm not likely going to continue the series. Rainey was the star of this show and I'm not that interested in Travis's siblings and I know the other stories will be about them.

Recommend to others: Sure if you like a little cozy, light spice, and gun fights, this series may be for you.
