super sweet

I got this as a free code for honest review. I didn't know what to expect with this book but I was pleasantly surprised. not very many books are about the bond between a child an adult. especially an adult with a sketchy pass. it was nicely written showing a child who had to grow up too fast. The adult that needed to also grow up. it was a super sweet loving book. can't wait for the next one

Once I started I couldn't stop listening until the end. Story is very compelling and the narrator keeps you intrigued until the very end. Definitely recommend for sci fi fans.

A sci-fi adventure full of heart

I wasn’t sure what I was walking into with Terra Firma by Jessahme Wren. A fun Sci-Fi romp as they skip through the galaxy? A space heist thriller? What I didn’t expect was the down-to-earth characters that form the backbone of the story. Sev and Phoenix are perfect in that imperfect way that makes them feel all the more human. They make mistakes, build and lose trust and still find a way through the galaxy together. A story that proves that the family you chose can make all the difference. And no matter what happens to the characters, as I watched the relationship grow in the story weaved by Wren, I became more confident that they would have each other’s backs by the end. Terra Firma is not an action-shooter novel, but one that is filled with heart and soul that will have you wiping tears as you turn the page.

Heartwarming Sci-Fi Adventure!

A heartwarming sci-fi adventure, Terra Firma is packed with family vibes, thrilling stakes, and imaginative worlds that keep you turning the pages. Sev’s father, Del, is an interplanetary drifter who is not the father 12-year-old Sev deserves. When Sev is left alone, Phoenix comes into her life, and he fulfills much of what she has always dreamed of in a father-daughter relationship. They find that surviving together far outweighs any benefits of being alone. One planet they work on for gems is savage and dangerous; the other is beautiful and inviting. Phoenix fills Sev’s life with surprises and helps her find solutions when things go wrong. Wren’s writing creates bright, detailed imagery that is filled with an emotionally evolving plot, including some occasional thrilling action. Sev and Phoenix develop a wonderful and powerful relationship that Sev documents in her journal, which she is always writing in. The narration is suburb and Amanda Woldt does an outstanding job representing each character in the story. I highly recommend Terra Firma and look forward to listening to the next book in the series!
