Publisher's summary

Master Sergeant Gant Maker was a highly decorated and well-respected marine - until his last mission left him as the sole survivor of an encounter with a vicious race called the Vacra. Served up as a scapegoat and drummed out of the military, he has since lived a life of seclusion with only an adopted alien as a companion.

Now the Vacra have returned. As the only person to have ever faced them and survived, Maker is reinstated in the corps and given the onerous task of finding this enemy on a world located at the edge of known space. Assisting him is an unlikely band of military rejects, including a blind sharpshooter, an unstable psychic, and a genetically engineered killing machine who refuses to fight.

Given that the Vacra have superior weapons and technology, Maker recognizes that his team is at a distinct disadvantage. But marines are nothing if not resourceful, and Maker has an audacious plan that just may level the playing field - if it doesn't get them all killed.

Action Packed Science Fiction..

Any additional comments?

This was a well written story with developed characters.

Gant Maker is the only survivor of his crew and suffers from survivors guilt,

until he is needed again to face enemies from his past.

The story line covered action, suspense and a bit of mystery making it an overall Good Read.

Mikael Naramore did well with the narration as usual.

Very Good Space Opera

I really enjoyed Hardman's Kid Sensation Series, and I expected this to be a similar middle grade book. I was surprised that this was a very different style of book. This is not a book targeted to kids. That said there is minimal material that would be inappropriate for younger listeners. I liked that we could have adult targeted book without the excessive swearing, sex, and "grittiness" that is so prevalent today because many authors seem to think it is necessary to make a book "believable".

This is a very good Sci-fi story. Great characters, both human and alien. Duplicity, adventure, corruption, and well written battle scenes. Characters each have their own motivations that are not always clear at first glance. I think that this really sets up this new series, and I look forward to future Fringe World books. That said, the plot in this story is nicely wrapped up by the end and if this is the only book in the series that you read it is still worth it.

Naramore does a great job at narrating this book, with distinct character voices that helps bring the story to life. I want to thank Kevin Hardman for providing me with this review copy of Terminus.

Yes. I've enjoyed and own every title Kevin has on audible and will buy every book he adds. They're such good adventures and make my lengthy drive enjoyable.

This is an excellent story, and the narrator does an excellent job bringing the action to life

Military Sci-Fi at Its Best

Recently, I've been making an effort to read & listen to genres I like, but haven't chosen in a while. What drew me to this one was the description in the summary of the 'military rejects'. I like stories of a rag-tag group brought together to face uncertain odds. This one happens to be in the remotest part of known space against a largely unknown alien species. Thus, my sci-fi fancy was struck. So, I requested a free review copy of this book. The following is my voluntary review.

I really enjoyed listening to this book. There's action, intrigue and a few twists in the plot. The story didn't make me want to tear my hair out because the science was implausible. The Vacra are supremely creepy. The 'reject' marines prove their value. And Erlen, the main character Maker's alien companion, is awesome. He needs a story with him in the lead. Even though this is part of a series, you still get the sense that you've read a complete story. I hate books that use the cliff-hanger gimmick. If your first book's good, people will read the next one.

Just as excellent is the narration by Mikael Naramore. Gant Maker comes alive with Mikaiel voicing Maker's POV. He infuses every character with a distinct personality. His reading made me feel like I was in the middle of the action myself.

Believable, well-written and worth your time. It's a winner. Highly recommended.

Excellent Series Start

This was the first book in the series and was an excellent beginning. The narration was perfect and the action was continual throughout the book.

a great start of new series stories

Being a great fan of Hartman' s novels in general this was a typically enjoyable tale.
The classic hero and his loyalty to his team and his mission even a few rules are broken. Also a real bad villain who as our hero days is a survivor like himself and who we will likely meet in the next book of the series

Sci fi misfit marines take the day

Great fast paced story with amazing characters. When the Lt is a maniac, your sniper is blind, your medic won't fight, your tech guy is a garbage collector, your mascot is some weird alien animal, and all Of them have just about washed out of the marines...what could go wrong? Prepare for great battle scenes, awesome alien landscapes, and some seriously great writing and narrating. Loved every second of this story. Can't wait for more. At times, a good story.

This book was freely given to me by the author for an unbiased review.
A good sci-fi story but a bit over the top at times. Narration was okay but story was somewhat predictable and lacked details and depth.
