Now A Lifetime Original Movie!

What is a woman's greatest temptation? How far will she go to find fulfillment—and how much is she willing to lose? Tempting Fate is an unforgettable, enthralling novel about the risks and rewards of "having it all" from beloved New York Times bestselling author Jane Green.

Gabby and Elliott have been happily married for eighteen years. They have two daughters. They have a beautiful, loving home. Forty-three-year-old Gabby is the last person to have an affair. She can't relate to the way her friends desperately try to cling to the beauty and allure of their younger years. And yet she too knows her youth is quickly slipping away. She could never imagine how good it would feel to have a handsome younger man show interest in her…until the night it happens. Matt makes Gabby feel sparkling, fascinating, alive—something she hasn't felt in years. What begins as a long-distance friendship soon develops into an emotional affair. Intoxicated, she has no choice but to step ever deeper into the allure of attraction and attention, never foreseeing the life-changing consequences that lie ahead. If she makes one wrong move, she could lose everything—and find out what really matters most.

What did you like best about Tempting Fate? What did you like least?

the story was fine, but the narration was difficult to take. She was trying to act out the parts, and subsequently over read.

What didn’t you like about Jane Green’s performance?

overdone

painful naration

Any additional comments?

This book was very predictable, the narrator was horrible with the different voices. A ton of redundancy. It wasn't a horrible read, and it wasn't a great read.

just ok

the story seemed slow as it was read. (and it was not the rate I had the book read) I prefer audio books that have more voice changes while reading a story. like it sounds like there are different readers, but it really is only one person. this one did not. but I enjoyed the story of the book

good story

I wanted to keep coming back to find out what happens in Gabby's life! Just like all of Jane's books, I fell in love with the leading woman.

Wonderful Read

Would you listen to Tempting Fate again? Why?

No. The author elected to read the book, which was a bad move. It's a good story but why set it in the USA and read it yourself when you can't sustain an American accent and your talking voice is a mouthful of marbles, "jolly hockey sticks", plummy, English?

What did you like best about this story?

The main character is very realistic, totally catches the female dilemma of being over forty in your body, but still 20 something in your mind.

Would you be willing to try another one of Jane Green’s performances?

NO! It's like hearing Enid Blyton read Sex in the City!!!!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No

Any additional comments?

Such a shame the author couldn't trust a professional narrator. If it wasn't such a good story I would have ditched it after the first 5 minutes.

Buy the book instead - the narration is awful
