Publisher's Summary

It's a sign of Lady Rosalia Armstrong's desperation that she's seeking refuge in a place as rugged and challenging as the Scottish Highlands. She doesn't care about hardship and discomfort, if only she can become master of her own life. Laird Ciaran MacGregor, however, is completely beyond her control....

Ciaran MacGregor knows it's perilous to get embroiled with a fiery Lowland lass, especially one as headstrong as Rosalia. Having made a rash promise to escort her all the way to Glengarry, now he's stuck with her, even though she challenges his legendary prowess at every opportunity. When temptation reaches its peak, he'll be ready to show her who he really is...on and off the battlefield.

OK I WAS TEMPTED...BUT YOU HAD ME AT THE WORD KILT

Laird Ciaran MacGregor is a handsome sexy Alpha Highland Warrior who's happiest either wielding his sword or bedding his Leman but unlike the 'Bad Boys' title Ciaran is actually a truly thoughtful likeable Laird, kind, caring, attentive, honourable, tender and a role model to all. Okay okay I suppose I'll have to comment on the plot too if I must but trust me he's the kinda guy you'll want to day-dream about.

You get caught-up in the drama as it unfolds beginning with Lady Rosalia's first memorable sight of Ciaran at Court then you become emotionally involved in her utter desperation as she has to escape not only the cruelty, hatred and hardships dished out by her parents, but also the arranged marriage to a dislikable Englishman. She isn't your usual heroine type as she's slighlty chubby, not beautiful and has quite low self-esteem however the lucky girl falls into the hands of Ciaran and his men and things begin to look up as he promises to take her to her Grandmother's home where she seeks refuge in the Highlands but she must first stay at his home (huh what a hardship) because of the weather (yeah right).

Of course, along the way there's attraction and temptation but Ciaran is sooo honourable he fights his feelings.... that is until he gets home to his Castle where the attraction and sexual chemistry evolves and gets even more intense. However, the road ahead for the H/H isn't smooth as there's an old vow, a scorned woman brings problems and there's kidnapping, betrayal, hurt, family conflict, revenge, and fighting with the 'bloody' Campbells.

Worth a credit? There's steady action, a sweet romance, humor, intrigue, adventure, passion (a bit of foreplay) with the H/H respecting each other, changing for one another and finally strengthening their feelings - all this coupled with lots of likeable secondary characters - so what's not to like? Yes it was well worth the credit and I'm looking forward to Bad Boy Declan's story next (now he really is a Bad Boy!!).

Kilt was enough to entice me to read this book

I just love those highlanders with their kilts. This laird is not quite as head strong as some others I have read about but still strong and powerful. I only wish there was more explanation put in as to what he falls in love with. Yes he does say what he loves about her but based on how the story actually unravels, all I could take away was his strong sexual need that drew him to her. Overall I give it a four. Still well worth a credit.

More twists and turns than a Highland road

Nice story line filled with several plot twists that take the reader out of the expected and into a genuine story. I wanted a light read that was simple and uncomplicated since my life of late has been very complicated. I thought this might be the book for that and while I was wrong I wasn't disappointed.

All the characters are well flushed out and very human. The storyline flows very nicely and is filled with romance and drama. Even though there were no big sex scenes it was still a good solid story. Definitely worth a credit.

Elizabeth Wiley is an excellent narrator. Her cadence and speech patterns are spot on and her voices are rich and varied making each character identifiable. I wish she could narrate more romances.

Good book, but was very upsetting&motional at times

A very good and unique storyline. However this book is definitely not in the "sexy" mood category. I would say more like "flirty"mood.

Clean Highlander Romance

It’s rare to find a Highlander romance story that is clean and PG 13 so if you’re in the mood for a clean historical romance this book is for you. The narration was pretty good too and added the emotions needed for the story.

Cover is "pretty cute"!

IDK having a difficult time finding one that has the qualities I like. This was okay I think narration was part of my problem. It was okay but at times the characters sounded to wistful and weak.

Give in to the TEMPTATION!

Badboys? Well... a good title perhaps. Sexy highlanders in kilts are never bad but always tempting.
This was a repeat listen and I think perhaps it's one of those things that are great to begin with yet seem to grow better with time. This book is remarkable in it's visuals, drama's, emotion, and individually distinct and knowable characters. l find little if anything to complain about and nothing at all to imply may need improving. I find this Series to be totally enjoyable and this 1st installment to be written with talent and originality. A great plot that is populated with people and places that bring it all to life. It grabbed my attention and kept me engaged.

NARRATOR: Elizabeth Wiley delivered a stellar performance. Her mastery of both male and female voices is amazing and there is never any doubt at all as to who is speaking. Their individual personalities are evident in every breath. It is quite a accomplished performer who can narrate with such command and expertise.

CREDITWORTHY? Oh, YES! If this is your genre' then this is your book.

HEAT FACTOR: Steamy!!
