Publisher's summary

For all his 21 years, Zephyr has been a cultivator of the Carefree Path and a martial artist. He always assumed he would take the vows and become a monk, but his plans are thrown to the wind when he receives a letter from the Grand Sage to attend the Schools of Elemental Magic.

Gifted with the system known as the "Codex of Ascension", Zephyr intends to master the various elements in record-breaking time. Alongside two other students who bear mysteriously similar origins, his school year promises to be more than he could have ever imagined.

Elemental Mastery: Tempest

There's just so much to say about the book Elementary Mastery (Tempest). I just love how there's so many unique elements in the book and around not only the character's but the world itself. Also, Alex Perone just does an amazing job at narrating the story so well. Look forward to the next installment of Elementary Mastery. :)

wonderful cultivation story, with a plot twist

Well thought out storyline. Nice twist at the end, right I had it figured out, but I was wrong.

I have my new guess for how it will go forward. Can't wait to see if you keep proving me wrong

It's not bad, but not great either

The story is not bad but not great either. The interaction between the main characters is the most interesting thing about the story. The lore and world need a lot more expansion.

Started great until.

This story started out great until its story was divided in 3. there is one protagonist in the story so it really feels like the 2 other characters weaken and slow the protagonists growth. the concept doesn't feel right in my opinion. It's fine to have other characters in the party with him but having 3 characters growth completely dependent on each other for growth, along with needing to always agree on how to grow seems like a catastrophe waiting to happen.

Great new series from DB King

If you have liked books from DB King then you will love this one. The MC is smart and likable. The world is well developed. Like all other stories the plot is smooth flowing with good combat and companions who are likable. Looking forward to the next book

highly entertaining, fresh concepts

This book iterates quite well with the litrpg formula, with some fascinating concepts. Interesting characters with character, and some humanity.

great start to an awesome new series!

Good story and narration!

A young man raised by battle monks taught in the ways of weapon masters finds out that he's to attend and esteemed magic academy. Upon arrival at the bottom of the mountain to the academy he stumbles across a young man and young woman who were also told to go to the academy and finds that they have a mysterious connection. Together they will harness their power and fight the hordes of darkness...

Alex does fantastic job with the narration!

I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to find out what happens next in the series!

I'd fallen in love with Zephyr's party and story!

In my mind the book starts out really rough. Like the narrator was unsure of himself or the writer wasn't very good, I couldn't tell which, but it made the book feel really clunky. Like one of those badly done high-school plays you had to sit through. But I girded my loins and soldiered on. I soon discovered that I didn't care about the production, as I had fallen in love with Zephyr and his two compatriots as they battled through dungeon after dungeon and as the action heated up, the narration became fluid and was actually very good!
