Although Cassandra King Conroy surely deserved keep her loss of so remarkable a Man private, I will always love her best for her Story & sharing it with all of us who loved Pat Conroy, and now her.

I loved this book

Pat Conroy has been my favorite author since I read my first book of his. No matter the subject, his beautiful prose and irreverent humor make his books wonderful reads. This book by his beloved wife made him so alive - more than “just an author.” The story made me laugh - and then cry. Somehow Cassandra King’s writing is filled with beautiful tender descriptions and very wry humor - much like that of her husband. I look forward to reading more of her books!

I loved it

This was the sweetest love story ever. It makes me so sad for Kassandra King Conroy as it was so obvious how much true love they had for one another. But the fact that they experienced that type of love is a silver lining. Not many people ever find that kind of love.

a COMPLETE Story!

A Pat Conroy fan for a very long time, I had high expectations. King Ray has written us a wonderful tribute to her true love, our hero. Warm, well-paced, revealing, honoring, hilarious, deeply personal, and inevitably sad.

Outstanding !! What a gift !!

I laughed and I cried and when it was over I felt like I had known Pat and Cassandra forever. A touching and beautiful memoir and a reminder that everyday is a gift to be cherished for we never know what tomorrow may bring.

The backstory and the end of the line

I have read NEARLY all of Pat Conroy's books (I will admit that I've missed two), but he was one of my very favorite authors. I would read (or listen to) his books and laugh or cry or both, but was always held spellbound. So, now that he is gone, his widow has written the story of her life with Pat. It moved me. A love story. An insider look at the life and some of the family situations that shaped Pat's writing. He was larger than life in many ways, and Cassandra King's telling reflects that with humor and feeling. Indeed, no one should doubt that Cassandra King is a talented writer - I've now started on her novels, and I'm sure I will discover that she's the "Same Sweet Girl" she's always been. A thank you to Cassandra for having revealed herself and Pat in this moving book.

Cassandra really does give an honorable tribute with this story telling. It captured my heart, just as Pat’s stories did. Simply Beautiful.

Engaging Listen!

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the story of Pat and Cassandra Conroy through her words. I didn’t know much about Pat although I’ve seen a couple of his books as movies. I will now read some of his other books as well as search for Cassandra’s books. The narrator was spot on and made listening very enjoyable. I highly recommend this book.
