Publisher's summary

“First, do no harm....”

It’s the start of my oath as a doctor, and breaking that oath is how I began my career.

Only I didn’t just do harm, I watched a man die right in front of me.

And not just any man - a man I hated. I thought his death would bring me peace, but it haunts me to this day.

Every close call sparks memories of what I did to him, to me, to her.

I have to go back and face what I’ve done or end my career.

Seeing her hits me harder than the regret.

She’s still so beautiful with long, dark hair, bright amber eyes, luscious curves. She still dominates my heart, my mind, my bed.

But she’s different now - stronger, bolder, unafraid.

We’re a mess, tangled up in a web I created.

But I’m determined to heal these wounds, to fix this break. One thing is certain, I won’t say good-bye to her again.

(A stand-alone Bayside Heroes novel. Small-town, second-chance doctor romance with a touch of suspense. No cheating. No cliff-hanger.)

Coastal small town romance with a lot of heart!

Beck and Carly's story about second chances and small town first loves was so sweet! Beckham was the hot doctor and Carly was the super smart criminal psychologist. Their careers were clearly important to them, but both were dealing with baggage that came with the job and drama that threw them both back into their tiny coastal hometown. I truly enjoyed both characters and loved their history together at teens and young adults. I thought the way they ended up back in the same place after all these years was a great way to force them to hash out their old feelings and deal with their past issues. The steam in this read was off the charts! There was just enough drama in this story to keep you entertained but it wasn't thrown in there just for the heck of it. I actually enjoyed the entire storyline surrounding Alize as well. It showed how compassionate and empathetic Carly was towards her patients. I adored the ending of this book and I really hope Tia Louise makes some spin off stories for Henry/Libby and Jessica!!!

I listened to this book on audio, which was narrated by Troy Duran and Samantha Brentmoor. I loved Troy's narration of the male MC and I liked Samantha for the female MC but I didn't like Samantha's attempt at the male voice. It just didn't sound right and was kind of cringey. I received a complimentary audiobook from the author for review.

Love & suspense

A second chance romance with suspense and danger thrown in? Yes ma’am! Tia Louise knows how to give us the best of that and does it once again here with Beck & Carly. It kept me completely engrossed and I couldn’t put it down! I believe this is the first time I’ve listened to Troy Duran, but I quite enjoyed it. And Samantha Brentmoor does a great job as always.

Oh my heart

This story with Beck and Carly was perfectly narrated. His voice was so swoony and did Becks character so much justice.

Their story itself was a wonderful small town second chance romance. This book packed in all the feels. The author did a phenomenal job weaving this story in such a way a listener/reader can get lost it in it. Tia Louise brought all the feels, the steam and a great little plot twist which kept my attention the entire time

Bayside Heros

Tangled up is a angsty second chance romance with a enemies-to-lovers overtone weaved through the pages. An added layer of danger and suspense. I love the element of first love getting a second chance and reconnecting after years apart. Sparks fly and
chemistry is believable. A splash of humor and overall entertaining listen.

Troy Duran, Samantha Brentmoor dual narration was well performed. I love Troy's deep tone and Samantha's sweet inflection.

Passionate second chance love story

Overall - 5 stars; Performance 4.5 stars; Story - 5 stars

Second chance romance with your first love?? Get ready for the passion and angst!

Troy Duran and Samantha Brentmoor are both fairly new-to-me narrators but they did a great job of portraying the various characters in this dual-style narration!

Beck and Carly fell in love when they teenagers. Tangled Up is about them reconnecting after years and slowly learning what tore them apart. Add in Carly's patient trying to hunt her down, you have a hint of suspense mixed in with the romance.

I loved reading their journey to HEA. All the Bayside couples are swoon-worthy and Beck and Carly are no exception! The geriatrics of Eden and Carly's bubbly best friend round out a creative cast of characters. I hope Hunter and Jessica each get a story because I am here for it!

Loved this book - Tia Louise has another winner. ❤

"I'm kind to people when they need it most, and kindness is not weakness. It'd be great if more people internalized that message."

Troy and Samantha knock it out of the park!

Swoon! Troy Duran and Samantha Brentmoor do an AMAZING job bringing Beck and Carly to life! I love when an audio makes a book that much more amazing, and they knock these two out of the park! The tension, the romance, the suspense…I was on the edge of my seat listening to this book and couldn’t put it down! The emotions these two invoke in the characters is phenomenal! I never wanted this one to end, and will definitely be relistening to this one often!

Healing

This book is about healing not only your soul but your heart and being able to come home again.

Beck Monrow is a hot doctor that is haunted by his past. His past love, a patient that he blames himself for loosing and past regrets. When he is thrown back into his past he will finally learn to forgive himself and to reconnect with his forever love.

Carly Dennison has known heartache as she has had one for years. She lost her forever love and doesn't really know why, she lost her husband and now her life is being threatened. She is back home to help her aunt who raised her and to stay protected from one of her patients. When she sees her love from her youth she is flooded with all kinds of feelings and suddenly coming home doesn't seem so bad.

There is so much in this book. There are secrets, danger, healing of the past, as well as fun and sweet moments. I loved Beck Monrow as I'm sure you will too. Who wouldn't want him as your doctor in your senior years. Carly is great too and caring and was just given a raw deal years ago and now it's her turn to find her happy. There will be some bumps along the way for her to get there but she does.

Troy Duran and Samantha Brentmoor did a great job narrating this book. They brought the emotion that was needed and I enjoyed listening to both of them.

Wonderful Story & Narration🎧Gripping & Heartfelt!

I loved everything about this book, from Tia Louise’s wonderful writing style to the fabulous characters and storylines she created to the perfectly cast narrators who bring it all to life from the pages to your ears. This is a standalone novel set in the “Bayside Heroes” world, the story is interesting and original, it immediately grabbed my attention and captivated it the entire book. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. I adored the two lead characters, Dr. Beckham “Beck” Munroe and Caroline “Carly” Dennison, the secondary characters are amazing too. Beck is a doctor in Bayside General in Tampa who specializes in geriatrics. He has a patient who is from the town he grew up in, Eden by the Sea, Jeb Callahan aka Mr. C was in a car accident and brought into the E.R. Mr. C recognized Beck right away. Seeing him brought back memories not only of his home town but of the only girl he ever loved, Carly. Beck had not been back to Eden in a while and decided to go, check on the house he has there and Mr. C. He was not expecting to see her there, she had moved away to Pensacola and is a criminal psychologist with the police department. Carly received threats after a prisoner failed to return from her furlough her chief thought it would be best if she left town until the prisoner was captured so she went back to her hometown to visit her Aunt Viv and brother Henry who is the Vet in Eden. She did not expect to see Beck, her first love, and the man who broke her heart. As soon as Beck saw her he knew it was not over between them and that there were things they needed to talk about, some he was afraid to tell her. The chemistry between them never went away, it was hotter than ever and they could not deny themselves. I loved how everything played out in this beautifully plotted second chance romance, loved the small town setting and charm too. There is never a dull moment in this book, the story contains plenty of drama, heartfelt emotions, a touch of angst, some twists and turns, thrilling and suspenseful moments and steamy romance. Tia Louise, thank you for this wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Troy Duran and Samantha Brentmoor’s talent have no bounds, they had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, giving each a voice that fit their character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable in every role they played and just as I pictured the character to sound. Troy Duran nailed it as Beck and grasped his personality completely, S. Brentmoor did the same for Carly, both were amazing performing the roles of all the secondary characters too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and their narration enhances an already brilliant story another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen, it is always a pleasure to listen to your work.

Be Still My Heart!

Tia Louise does it again. Sucks me in and keeps me listening straight through a book. This is the last of her Bayside Heroes books, we get to know Beck! He has been speckled through the other books, but now we get to see exactly what makes this doctor tick. After treating a patient, he knew as a teen, he takes time to go back home and check on him. Little does he know that the woman that captured his heart all those years ago will be there too. Carly is back visiting her aunt as a precautionary measure of her job. Threatened by an escaped patient, her life may be in danger. Now these two meet by accident and all the unresolved feelings come to the surface. Steamy, exciting and suspense filled, Louise lets live with this couple as their broken hearts are revisited. Beck is holding a secret too that may just blow up the reunion. Steamy, exciting and suspense filled, Louise lets live with this couple as their broken hearts are revisited. Both Beck and Carly have issues that need to be overcome, and the suspense story is both heart wrenching and just scary enough to make me need to know the whole story! A great listen with great characters!

Narrated by Troy Duran and Samantha Brentmoor, I knew it was going to captivate me. Both are high on my list of favorites, and they did not disappoint. Duran led us straight to our hearts with Beck. Broken, guilty and so in love, we find so many different feels in his voice. Brentmoor gives us the strong yet vulnerable Carly. She brings out her incredible heart and compassion along with her love. This is a team you should not miss telling you a story!
