Publisher's Summary

Alex Bishop is your typical cowboy. Charming, sexy, and wears a panty-melting smirk. Working on the ranch helped build his solid eight-pack and smoking body. He's every girl's wet fantasy and he knows it too. Alex doesn't follow the rules of your typical playboy bachelor. After wining and dining his dates and giving them the best night of their lives, he always sends flowers and calls the next day - even if it's to say, let's just be friends.

His mama taught him manners after all and his southern blood knows how to be a gentleman. Still, that isn't enough to tame the wildest of the Bishop brothers. River Lancaster has finally met the man of her dreams. Too bad after six months of romantic bliss, she finds out he's married. With a broken heart and blind rage, she books herself a ticket to Key West, Florida. Tired of cheaters and liars, she's set on escaping to forget he ever existed. Who needs a man when there's an all-you-can-drink margarita bar, anyway?

That's what she tells herself until she bumps into the right guy who can make all those bad memories disappear. Even if it's only temporarily. Two weeks on the beach is what they both need. No strings attached, no expectations, no broken hearts. Too bad the universe has other plans - one that'll change the entire course of their lives in just nine short months.

5 Stealing His Heart Stars!!!

I had the pleasure of reading this book when it was released and LOVED it so much that I decided to listen to it when the audio was released. Ms. Peachwood and Mr. Snow NAILED the characters and brought an entirely new enjoyment to this book.

Well, they've done it again. This book is an outstanding start to a new series by the duo known as Kennedy Fox. And this time we get cowboys with tight jeans and oh my goodness I was captivated the moment I started this book.

It starts off with a Prologue that almost broke me. I wasn't expecting it that's for sure, and it totally sets the tone of who River is and the whys of how she lives her life. My heart literally hurt for her and I absolutely cried.

For all intents and purposes River and Alex should have never met, but when they both end up in Key West for two weeks of fun in the sun and hopefully some sexy times between the sheets, and while there's an initial attraction between them, she has no patience for Alex's cheesy pickup lines. But one day, when River comes to the aid of Alex and his best friend Dylan they just can't fight their crazy chemistry.

"Alex looks at me with so much fire in his eyes, it almost burns my skin."

And so begins two weeks of some of the best and sexiest weeks either of them have ever experienced. And what was supposed to be a friends with benefits kind of thing, real feelings begin to be felt. I could feel how our H/h felt for each other. They've both had such a rough go round in the romance arena so to find someone that they connected with on a visceral level was beautiful.

Fast forward a few months and River has come to Texas to see Alex and she's got a surprise for him! I absolutely LOVED how he didn't question her and how he was not afraid to admit his feelings this time. This book had so much levity while also being dirty and sexy at the same time. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't just them jumping back in bed together. I admired Alex so much more because he was willing to do whatever it takes to make this work.

Along the way we meet the entire Bishop family and all their dynamics. And when the Bishop boys are involved you know there's soon to be some raucous fun! The fact that this family opens their arms to River, after a rough start, made me fall in love with all the Bishops. It's clear who runs this family and it's not who you think it is!

In the end, this book is exactly what I was hoping it was going to be. Kennedy Fox knows how to deliver a book with a punch that drew me, had me simmering and then gave me all the emotions plus some.

My Two Pennies

Love a southern drawl and these narrators were spot on. Ride ‘em Cowboy! Alex is THE Bishop man that has won my heart. River’s story breaks my heart but she is so strong and I love the career she chose in life. When a vacation turns into so much more I am wishing to have experiences like that and that bucket list... hello! I was in tears at times both happy and sad. Getting to know the whole Bishop family is great and seeing how close knit and loving they are is beautiful. I cannot wait to hear the rest of the boys stories the Doctor is in next and I’m curious to see what happens. This is my unbiased and voluntary review

I'm hooked after reading Taming Him!

This was my first Kennedy Fox read and I absolutely loved it, so much so that I read it twice! I would definitely consider this my gateway book into the world of Kennedy Fox. After reading Taming Him, I was hooked and binged the rest of the Bishop Brothers series!

I'm a sucker for a small town, cowboy romance and Kennedy Fox delivered with this story! I loved the main characters, Alex and River and the connection the two shared throughout the entire book. It was fun and exciting, with lots of steamy scenes throughout the beginning part of the book and then it becomes more serious for both River and Alex while they grow and adjust to their new situation. The book starts with two people knowing almost nothing about each other and turns into a beautiful love story by the end!

The way Taming Him ends is such a great segway into Needing Him that you'll want to start reading immediately, so do yourself a favor and buy all 4 Bishop Brothers books now!

Meh....😴 Boring as sh#t - and Lacking

This is the most boring book ever, it could put an entire Library (incl the librarian and janitor) to sleep. If the plot didn't throw in the explicit sex scenes, it wouldn't have been worth me finishing the book. Even so, I still struggled with finishing it. Overall, lacking.

Throughout the entire book I was waiting for it to get better, capture my interest, just something I could relate to or fantasize about but it never happened. This book had none of the climax, no anticipation, no comic relief (oh, there were attempts... but let me put it this way, it was equivalent to me throwing a baseball to 2d base,,, did I mention I have a limp arm (......yeah that funny), just utterly boring. It does have the potential to be a 4.5-star but it needs work.

It is possible that my expectations were too high. (possible spoiler Alert) With the way the plot began with River's sister in the hospital, it gave the impression that would have a significant impact in the story but it had very little to do with the rest of the book. The connection between what happened to her sister, her parents, especially how she feels about her father which led to her being in the medical field and knowing how to perform CPR hence, saving someone the hero cares about makes absolutely no sense to me. They were at a place for tourists and on the beach, I bet my left toe there were at least 6-9 life guards already there (eye roll).

The connection just isn't there for me because, really, she could have obtained CPR training for any reason (a lot of ppl know CPR and have taken CPR classes for many reasons),... I mean, I know CPR and I'm an idiot and lazy at that. I signed up for a CPR class because I saw a commercial on TV about foster kids (mind you, 1. I don't have nor have I ever had any foster children and 2. I have two of my own children (the youngest is a teenager) and it never crossed my mind to take a CPR class for them until I saw the commercial.... told you I'm an idiot. I digress).

Lacking:
The author makes it impossible for you to relate or connect to anyone of the characters. Because there is just not enough depth, breadth, descriptive or vivid info into their roles/character. And with the info provided, every single characters could be described as shallow (in every sense of the word), to incl the hero and heroine. As the info, thoughts, reactions, etc. were completely dense and flat. The entire book was written as if it were a summary. A better description would be, it seems the book was "miss editted" and started from the middle so we are missing chapters maybe 1-18 (18 is a random number), that would have given us a better understanding of each character and their role. Sorry, this is the best I could do for this review.

Also, what's the deal with the cover of the book? Is it me or is that not a black female standing behind what is supposed to be a white male on the cover; this is not an interracial book? There is no way it is the coloring/lighting.

so boring

spoilers ahead!! the story started out interesting, even cute. their meeting in Florida was fun, everything was good up until he convinced her to move south. that happened about half way through the book. absolutely nothing happened the entire rest of the book. i finished it because i convinced myself there had to be more to the story. there wasn't. huge waste of time. the one good thing was listening to Aiden. the h was annoying, whiny, spoiled, weak and stupid. yuk. the H came up with a great proposal and right up till the words leave his mouth she can't figure out what is happening. seriously. just don't bother.

All around GREAT

Loved this story. This book kept my interest from start to finish! Loved the narration also. Im from Louisiana so a lot of southern narration are over done with way too much country slang this was very well done.

Fun slice of life

So, for a slice of life story, 11 hours was a bit too drawn out. But honestly, I liked Alex (he made some mistakes but who doesn't) and I liked River, who overall was really sweet. Not much happened- Alex was a redeemed rake after he met River on vacation, there's a surprise baby. And now they need to learn to live their new normal. Very little angst, which I really liked but the story kind of just ambled on. So, I wish it was shorter but the story itself was well written and sweet.

I listened to the audiobook and that was part of the reason I just couldn't put the book down. I love Savannah Peachwood- ssuch a sweet voice that was perfect for River. Her male voice was a little forced but still I had no trouble getting into the story. Aiden Snow, with his deep, Texas voice, was perfect. I could listen to him read anything but since this was also a fun book to boot, it was a fantastic way to spend my time!

Weak heroine

Seems all the books I've read/listened to lately contain very weak heroines who are easily persuaded by whoever they happened to be talking to...<sigh>... then try to control the situation with "boundaries" and "what ifs". This one wore me out with her insecurities and lamenting. But, this story is perfectly coordinated with the perfect narrators---Savannah Peachwood's soft, sweet voice is perfect for this whiny heroine. Aiden Snow is always great---a little gruff for this younger cowboy but still fits,

This is a story that is totally feasible and probably happens often so don't expect a mystery or exciting, dramatic story, just sweet romance, a little angsty with an HEA. Kinda drawn out, too.

nice story.

I'm not sure how the title fits as the heroine didn't have to take him at all. if anything he had more taming to do.
lovely story very predictable, was hopi g for a twist or 3 but straight forward. loved Aiden snows voice and narration and savannah did well even if her voice portrays sweetness. the heroine became that personified.
