Personally i feel like the stories in the book felt a little dry and didn't have much going for them. well they probably did well in the nosleep forums on reddit I don't think they adapted well into a novel.

I feel like it wasnt for me

Light horror goosebumps style with a surfer dude style narrator and modern sensibilities. At first I was disappointed the scares weren't more 'extreme' and that the narrator's casual tone lacked gravity. Eventually I was able to best enjoy the stories as cartoonish pop culture references with a bit of macabra to them. The narrator's vibe fits the 'saturday morning scares' feel of the shorts and they inter splice occasional other voices that work well. This isnt to say there's not a bit of gore and total weirdness between Star Wars and Redbox references. (Reviewer received a free book for an honest review).

Casual Modern Pulp

This seems to be written towards beginner scary story listeners. The writing is good but basic and gentle for the most part.

The narrator is monotone and creates no excitement, thrill or suspense. There are no pauses between stories and it listens like one long run on sentence.

Would be better with different narration

Overall I enjoyed the stories, wish some were a bit longer but still thought they were solid. The narrator is what brings this down for me. Pretty monotone made it tough to listen to. I also wish the chapter breaks were longer, they really just sound like one sentence to another.

Good stories, not a great narrator
