Coming back into Leadville, Marshal Spencer comes across a murdered Utes and the site of an ambush. Back in town Sheriff Gannon suspects a group of US Marshals transporting a prisoner is not what it seems. A necklace, a marshal star and a handful of clues, set off a violent shoot out and lead to a brutal punishment.

TALISMAN (OWL & SPENCER)

This is a short story about Owl and Spencer. All three books are good. In this book Spencer and Owl are dealing with some Guys acting like Marshalls. They also killed some friends of Owl. It's a good book my only problem with it is it's so short. I like to get a little more into details. This is a movie in your mind style of book with several narrators. It didn’t overstay its welcome

Given that the characters, setting, and dialogue are basic, I’m thankful for the hour length. It was just long enough to give a solid mystery procedural with a side of revenge western, without dragging me down with endless scenes of sneering cowboys.
