Tales of the Jazz Age, F. Scott Fitzgerald's second book of 11 short stories, including "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button", a humorous satire of the wealthy, is a perfect length for a long commute - and for a return to a golden, bygone era.

My first impression was the narrator would be better suited for stories by Bret Harte or Mark Twain (Innocents Abroad, e.g.). Fitzgerald's lighthearted Jazz Age tales about flappers and their beaus requires something of a lighter, smoother voice. Flirtatious chatter is ludicrous coming from this narrator. However, the constant mispronunciations were so annoying and, in some instances, I think the words were just made up ( 'preciptously'?) that I can't imagine enjoying anything read by this narrator. There really should have been some quality control imposed here.

Poor Narration

Any additional comments?

This is so badly read that you realize the narrator is uneducated. He constantly mangles words and his tone and elocution are so far from what the youthful, spirited writing of FSF deserves. This is an awful treatment of fine American fiction. FSF would die if he heard this reading.

How does Audible produce these works? Is there any quality control? This is one of many examples of terrible mispronunciations that populate Audible productions.

Don't buy this Audible version - Horrid narration

The narration is very poor. I listened to the narration following in the book in order to follow. The intonation is often non-sensical and the narrator often misses words or uses his own.
