Publisher's summary

Logan Trahan one of the French Quarter’s hottest bartenders. A charming, sexy southern boy whose needs are simple: make a living running his family bar and make sure everyone who walks through the doors has a great time - especially the single female tourists.

And then Dana Doucet catches his attention.

Dana hasn’t let her hair down since her husband’s funeral, but even an uber-organized single mom isn’t fully immune to sexy, persistent southern charm. So yeah, she finally gives in to Logan’s naughty flirtations after - ironically - nine months.

And now, these opposites are stuck with each other forever. Or at least for the next 18 years, eight months, and one week.

You will need tissues for all the AWWWWWs

I didn't think I was going to fall in total love with this book. The oops baby trope doesn't tend to be one of my faves and Logan has a reputation as a serious playboy (as established in Book 1). But I was wrong. So completely wrong. This might be my new favorite Erin Nicholas title (although, IDK I do have a serious soft spot for Billionaires in Blue Jeans). I SO identified with Dana, as the one who makes everything run smooth, who just...takes care of IT ALL for everyone around her. And Logan, as it turns out, is EXACTLY my type. The guy who swoops in and takes care of things...even the things she didn't realize needed taking care of. Watching him fall in love with her two daughters was an absolute delight. And if you are not killed dead by the AWWWWs of the purple hair bow, then you have no heart and should seek immediate intervention. Two thumbs up and a double squee cannon salute!

Cute and Sweet and Fun!

So while this has all five stars it was a bit slow to get started— like the relationship part was up and down the whole book (that was the point of this particular story though) but if you don’t like slow to commit and push and pull then this might not be for you.

I loved the back and forth as neither one of them was not committed to the relationship they just saw it differently and it took awhile for them to come to the same conclusion.

The end of this story had me in happy tears! It was a simple and yet perfect way to end the telling of this couples/family’s story!

Ryan West is simply magnificent though. He has a deep voice but not too deep. He performs the drawls of New Orleans/Louisiana a whole with ease. I like how he plays up some of them and some of them are softer. It’s so fun!

Great story line, very engaging narrator

Dana Doucet is a widow with two young daughters. Her husband had died while serving in the military. She is a member of a single parent support group that has developed into a family unit. Through this support group’s family events Dana meets Logan Trahan. Logan’s brother is also a member of the support group.

Logan Trahan is a bar owner/bartender. He has been interested in Dana since he first saw her at the support group family event. He asked her out multiple times, always being turned down. One night while working at his bar Dana walks in. She has one thing on her mind: a hot, steamy one night hook-up with Logan.

A few weeks later Dana realizes this one-night stand has just taken a turn…she is pregnant. Logan is over the moon! Not only does he have strong feelings for Dana, but he is also excited to be a father! Dana allows Logan to become part of not only her life, but also a significant part of her daughter’s lives, as well.

Without giving anything away, I will say this book does end in a happily-ever-after. The ending certainly put a huge smile on my face. This is an Erin Nicholas book so I was 99% sure how this story would end, but I did not expect it to happen the way it did. I loved it! This is also why I love Erin Nicholas books. The Epilogue left me wanting more Dana and Logan.

The narrator was Ryan West. He did a fantastic job! He had just a hint of a Louisiana accent. He kept me engaged in the story, made me feel like I was in the south and was able to do a great job differentiating the character voices.

A Totally Charming, Heart Melting Romance

This book completely captured my heart. Logan and Dana are simply perfect together and their story will make you swoon as your heart melts. A charming blend of steamy passion, sweet romance and adorable cuteness, this story will quickly pulls you in and simply does not let go. I adored this book and it is now officially my favorite of this series. If you like books that are a bit cute, quite steamy and are proud to wear a gigantic heart on their sleeve for all to see, this book and series just does not disappoint! I thought the narration was well done and I found the performer's voice very pleasing.

One job - failed

The story starts out with Dana Doucet confronting Logan Trahan about him having one job and it failed -- and now she's pregnant. A widowed mother with 2 daughters she has concerns about Logan and his easy, fun personality and being capable of helping parent the new baby that's coming. He feels that he'll be a great father and wants to prove it by getting involved with her daughters and helping her with them. Logan is so sweet and really comes into his own with learning how to do "dance" hair and understanding the youngest daughter's obsession with death and ghosts. Dana can't seem to resist Logan's charm and southern accent. Ryan West does a fantastic narration with his accent that I probably couldn't resist either! I can't wait for more books by Erin Nicholas since she writes so much humor into the characters along with the men wanting to take care of the women they are involved with. This series is fantastic!

So so good

I’ve been an Erin Nicholas fan for years but the Boys of the Bayou is fast becoming my favorite of all her collections! This book had me laughing, blushing, and happy tears at one point. Erin has a way of getting you invested in her characters that make them feel like family!

My Thoughts on Taking It Easy

I loved this book. Logan was pretty impossible not to love. And Dana was so good for him and he was good for her. But the whole story just got me in the feels. There was a good level of steam and lots of smiles. There was family time and an awesome dance dad. I just found this story to be so full and well laid out. It flowed so well that I finished it in a day. I didn't want to stop listening. And of course the amazing writing was helped along by the fantastic narration of Ryan West. He's one of those narrators that just does it for me. That relaxing tone that doesn't irritate me with the "female voice" and that I absolutely loved with a bit of a southern drawl in this story. This series is fantastic so far and I can't wait to hear more.

Single Mom Takes a Chance on a Good Time

Logan Trahan co-owns Trahan's Tavern in the French Quarter with his brother Gabe. He is interested in Dana Ducet, the young widow and mother of two daughters. After months of asking her out, she finally agrees. One night of passion and Dana becomes pregnant.

Dana is concerned about relying on Logan, the single "good time guy." She was married to a "good time guy", that came home from on leave from the military, had fun with her girls and then left. Leaving Dana as the one responsible for discipline and all the other things in child rearing. She is not sure that she can do that again. But she also doesn't want to keep Logan from his child.

As soon as Logan finds out that he is going to be a father, he wants to make them all a family. Dana is reluctant, expecting him to get bored and leave. As their relationship grows, she begins to see that while Logan is a "good time, up for a party" guy, he is also responsible. She can count on him. It was fun seeing them become a cohesive family and Dana and the girls accept Logan. Also loved his interaction with his friends at the bar.

Great narration by Ryan West.
