2nd in the series

The second audiobook in the Terra Mates series is very different to the first. The initial book was an enjoyable summer read, where as this one is an interplanetary human trafficking story and its connection to the Terra Mates Program is tenuous at best. The narration is good, she fits the characters well and her male voices are very believable. It is well written but this storyline did not appeal to me. Kidnapped from Earth, drugged and sold to the highest alien bidder, Lyzette seems not too concerned at being objectified, groped and sold into sex slavery. Her main concern is not what has happened to her or how she can escape, but rather the potential loss of "her jewel." Even though Mikael, who purchased Lyzette as his next concubine, does not sexually abuse her, every other male she encounters seems to. Mikael himself is no saint, even though he is not an outright molester, he still has a group of women who he has bought for the purpose of sex, most of whom were originally kidnap victims too. He used them each as concubines until he tired of them, then he just went out and bought another girl and his prior sex slaves were used as house staff. All these women seem to have Stockholm Syndrome, as they still just want to please Mikael and spend a lot of time preparing and training Lyzette to please him. Not one of them appeared to suffer any psychological or emotional problems after being abducted, abused and sold for sex! I know the ex-concubines say they were helping Lyzette in order to make Mikael fall in love with her and then free them, but after living as a slave on that world for years, you would think they would have know that by law a slave could only be released when their master is dead. This audiobook was not one for me, as abuse and nonconsensual sexual situations are not romantic, even if there is a HEA at the end. I received the audiobook in exchange for my honest opinion.

Good narration, awful story

I listened to the first book in this series and enjoyed it so thought I'd try the second. That was a regrettable decision and not one I'll be making again. It's almost like this book was by a completely different author. the heroine in the first book was strong and awesome. The woman in this story is a voluptuous, airheaded virgin who gets kidnapped and sold into slavery to aliens. Then she's molested, purchased, kidnapped again, molested and almost raped 2 more times, rescued, traded to the guy that kidnapped her (the second time), beaten, and almost raped again. Hard-freaking-pass. The only redeeming qualitiy of this book is that she finally realized her own worth and tries to stand up for herself (eventually). I listen to about 80 books a year and I honestly cannot figure out why I finished this one.

Feels disconnected from 1st book

I really enjoyed the first book in the series so I had high hopes for this audiobook, unfortunately to me it seems like this book was written earlier. The wording of some anatomy parts seems juvenile and then other places it's not. The story is very dark, disturbing and rapey in nature. I
will still try the 3rd book and hope for better, skip this one.

This audiobook was given to me at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review.

Aliens

I actually liked this book. This isnt the first alien romance I've listen to. This was an interesting story I'm glad the girl in this story got married to the guy because I knew he actually liked her. I know it's weird with the situations with the Aliens and Humans but the stories always catch my attention I'm the end. Good book.

Boring Smut

I don't discriminate against a good erotic novel. But this book sucks. I couldn't even finish it because the plot was dry as toast. And the protagonist is basic as the $5 tanks they sell at Forever 21. Return.

waste if time

I love the terramates series I've read or listened to all this by far is the worst I couldnot finish it. I don't like the heroine ... I got halfway through the book and she still full of self doubt and insecurities. The only thing good about this story was the performance

Taken - Suspenseful, With Lots of Twists!

This story took me on a mental roller coaster ride! I felt every emotion from anger, anxiety, anticipation to relief, hope and finally the happy ever after I was hoping for. After Lyzette is kidnapped and sold into slavery, her life is forever changed. In the beginning, she accepts her fate and tries to make the best of it. Her "owner" Mikael doesn't really think of her as a slave and treats well, and when he develops feelings for her, he starts to see slavery for what it is. However, after Lyzette is taken from Mikael, she finally finds her inter strength, and makes a stand.

Even though this book was about Lyzette being kidnaped, and sold into slavery, the story kinda reminded of the Brides of Kindred series. However, this one was more on the dark side and the alien world was more like earth.

This story drew me in, and kept me on the edge of my seat; I could not stop listening to it, even if I wanted to. I would recommend this story to my friends; however, I would caution it contains adult content.

Another great narration by Addison Spear!

Aweful!

The only thing good about this book was the narrator. The main female lead is an F*ing moron and never grows any brains. I was sooo tempted to stop listening to it multiple times, but was hoping it would get better. Nope, it didn't. Don't waste your money /credits on this one.
